Older building but maintained, lots of parking for a class which was nice to save a little change. Biggest complaint was to get into the building you had to enter from the side. There is a note on the front door (South Washington side) that says to go around. Minor inconvenience when returning from a lunch break. Also noted a sign no foriegn vehicles allowed in parking lot.

AFL-CIO must hate USW Retirees if you live in Michigan.

* Between paying for excessive negotiated healthcare payments, from my poorly negotiated, measly USW pension.
* Excessive negotiated deductibles.
* Complete failure of the Health Awareness Initiative. I get screwed every year for some reason or another. I think they’re making up rules as they go.
* Embarrassing Co-Pays at the Doctors Office.
* State of Michigan Double Dipping excessive healthcare payments, with PIP charges through the Michigan No Fault Auto insurance program. I hope the kickback was worth it, the help they offer, is just an endless circle jerk leading back to my wallet.

These bullet points have all been negotiated at the contract table. They know what they’ve done. The USW - AFL-CIO here in Michigan should ashamed of themselves for this atrocity, against the dues paying members who put them on the map.

Michigan isn’t the State to retire in, if you were a USW member. It’s cost me thousands of $$$ to learn this lesson about the downside of collective bargaining.
