Called Mcrest a couple of times, no available beds. Understandable; a lot of people need help. My last few attempts to call, they told me they had a bed and then proceeded to hang up on me when I tried to follow through. This happened in another 2 callbacks. Lady on the phone sounded annoyed I kept calling, and I could hear her and someone in the background saying very rude things like I couldn’t hear. Then they said I have to get there in a half hour to get the bed. Not possible with my current situation. These things in tandem make me feel very unwelcome and unsafe going there now, but I have no choice but to keep trying.

Edit: judging by the other reviews, seems it’s a waste of time to keep trying. This world doesn’t truly care about you unless you have money. It pushes instead of pulls when you reach out your hand.

The help these beautiful people have been providing to our Community and especially those in need is simply INVALUABLE. They are exceptionally organized and care about people suffering hard times in life. I have talked to many people in this local area who have all had great positive things to say about MCREST. My personal advice to those interested in their helpful programs is to be nice and polite at all times; Appreciate the help that they have been providing to thousands of people. They do have important protocols in place and with good reason as I mentioned they are extremely organized caring people and what they do is not easy (That is a clear-cut understatement). Also, Please pay good attention to they little they ask for in return for what they do, Things like being nice and keeping things clean if you mess them up are common sense and it really helps for everyone involved to do their best to help out as a team. They are an amazing organization and exceptionally helpful to so many people, It is amazing to see. God bless them all.

The past several years for christmas my family and I have purchased new items that the shelter was in need of. I called this year around Thanksgiving and asked what they were in need of after receiving multiple donations from people and scraping up money to purchase things that were needed for the shelter I went to drop the items off and was told they no longer need it. I am disgusted and completely heartbroken I will never donate to them again. I explained to the woman that everything was brand new we had socks, underwear, soaps, lotions, jackets, adult incontinence supplies and she refused to take anything and stated they just received 75 jackets.

Ok, do you want to get down knittt and gritty. I am so thankful for MCREST. They provided me with everything I needed, food, resources, water, a bed a place to call home. Is it an adjustment. Yes. Living with a million people and no bathroom time, but you have to remember you are are guest. You make arrangements, like I'll shower at night and stuff like that. But just get along with everyone and everyone is really cool., especially the staff. They are there to help you. Now I have my own apartment, job, car, and they even accommodated me with my broken leg. I am truly grateful. I hope everyone gets the help and guidance they need.

My son and I have been helping a young woman who is a survivor of domestic abuse who ran. I'm praying that she can be helped because we're running out of money to keep her in a room. I wish that our circumstances were different but I have a 93 year old mother with dementia, we are living at her house to take care of her and it's very stressful. We don't have much but we are doing the best that we can to keep our DVV safe and taken care of.❤️

I'm currently trying to get into MCREST. I've been there before and that place is AWESOME! When I was there the staff was incredible and if you did your part, then the staff would bend over backwards to help the client. Wish me luck trying to get in tomorrow morning.
