I wanted to take the time to share a review because I have recently experienced how heartbreaking, overwhelming and worrisome it can be when you are faced with placing a loved one into a facility.
My mother has been a resident at McAuley Rehabiilition and Wellness for the past 4 weeks.
The entire staff that I have met so far has been absolutely amazing! They not only show compassion, kindness, care and respect for the patients but for our family members as well.
One of the first things you notice when entering McAuley is that it is very clean, warm and inviting. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming, even some of the residents greet me each day and are always happy with big smiles!
I have been there almost everyday since my mom arrived, and I realize what a tough job each individual has. They are dealing with many different patients with different needs and difficulties but no matter how stressful a situation may be, the staff always approaches it with kindness, concern and love. I feel that they truly make the patients feel heard, seen and cared for.
So if you are in search of a short term or long term care facility for your loved one, I would recommend McAuley. Great Job McAuley! I appreciate you and all that you have done and continue to do for my mom.

We feel heard, cared for and it's clean. I appreciate being greeted by a friendly face each time we visit. and she is helpful in directing us where to go. The complimentary fresh fruit infused ice water is a nice touch. My mom has enjoyed the food. All the meals are made from scratch and lots of options. Having phones for each resident is helpful to keep in contact. Lots of friendly staff. Sometimes she has a short wait because there are lots of needs. I feel my mom is being cared for, all the staff we've met have kind and I hope my mom continues to engage.

We are very happy with the care our mother received at McAuley. They were there for us when we needed their services most. All the staff were very kind and caring as well as empathetic to our needs. Our Mom received excellent care and was happy during her stay there. Mom didn’t want to leave! All our questions were answered in a timely fashion. My mom has been at McAuley for only a few weeks and they have done wonderful with her. She was at a different rehab facility for a few weeks and it was disgusting gross the staff was terrible. McAulay has been amazing helping her all along the way to a path to recovery to be able to go home tomorrow they have been helpful with getting everything set up that she needs at home. Was in the hospital for 4 weeks before she was transfered to the bad rehab facility and then to
McAuley where the nurses and everyone have just been amazing. Even the front desk ladies treat you so nice. Great place for rehab.

ZERO IS my actual rating. My mother entered McAuley for rehabilitation of a broken leg. Three weeks later she is in ICU at Mercy with a bedsore, with sepsis and in septic shock! Do NOT allow your loved one to enter this facility. I did not just drop my mother off. I was there everyday 2 to 3 times a day, and they still managed to almost kill her. WARNING to those who transfer your loved one out...I was a strong advocate for my mother and her care, yet the head nurse, building administrator and social worker all took various forms of leave and did not process my mother's exit even though they had 5 or more days prior notice. Her new facility received no intake information, medication nor equipment. The new facility saved her life. McAuley's incompetence, lack of professionalism and lack of empathy allowed her new facility to see the dereliction of McAuley's duty; they(new facility) called 911 to have my mother transferred to Mercy. She had only been there for 13 hours, and they knew she was on the road to death. Remember McAuley staff/workers, you may need this type of assistance one day. You should hope and pray there is a facility, unlike yours, to care for you.

My grandfather recently had open heart surgery and unfortunately was forced by his insurance company to choose a nursing home facility with rehabilitation within it, instead of a standard rehabilitation facility. My husband and I arrived not long after him being transferred from Mercy over to this place. Walking into the facility there was no desk person to help us. I had to call their number just to get someones attention.

It took 3 people to get my grandfather's room correct for us to find him. Upon walking into his room, he was half way down his bed and trying to push himself up higher. Again, he's 7 days post open heart surgery. 2 staff ladies came in, both having a conversation of how neither of them had my grandfather as a patient but they would help. They then pulled him up and still never really acknowledged him or talked kindly to him.

Getting him comfortable, his roommate was coming in and out of his sleep and mentioned he needed to pee and needed help. My husband ran to the nurse's station and they said they would be right there. When the man asked again for help we told him someone would be right there to help, he unfortunately wet himself waiting for help.

I am terribly concerned about my grandfather's recovery here and am hoping to get him somewhere better as quickly as I can.

I would give zero stars if I could. Stay Away!! My mom was there less than 12 hours and fell and broke a hip. It was third shift, she pressed her button for help to go to the bathroom. She waited and waited and nobody showed up. She finally got up herself and fell and broke her hip. Less than 12 hours.

Staff ignores patients' call lights for a minimum of 20 minutes and don't bother to learn the physical limitations of the patient. The call lights in the hallway don't work and nurses sit at the station ignoring the lights on the computer. My grandmother wasn't supposed to put weight on her right foot, yet almost every nurse and aide would stand her up with a walker and let her walk to the bathroom and back. They would act surprised when I let them know she wasn't supposed to put weight on her foot. The excuse for the long wait times were "short staffed", yet there was always a group of staff hanging out in the hallway, chatting about personal stuff. They don't care about people. Period. I called the administrator, Steve Chambers, and left him a voicemail. He never returned my call. He did, however, go and chat with my grandmother, who has dementia and couldn't remember that she was being neglected. Maybe that chat made him feel better and he didn't feel it was necessary to call me. That's just ridiculous. I will never let a loved one spend another minute at McAuley.
