I have nothing but nice things to say about Lyon Counseling Center and the mental health professionals that work there. I attend weekly therapy for myself as does my son. Our therapists are competent, compassionate, and effective. Our appointments are handled at the Brighton location which is only a 12 minute drive from South Lyon. I've had the pleasure of meeting other therapists when coming and going and they all seem warm and friendly. I highly recommend this practice.

I have been seeing a therapist through Lyon Counseling for about five months now and she has been absolutely wonderful! She is considerate and caring, while also challenging me and asking thought-provoking questions. She is responsive to texts in between sessions and willing to reschedule if necessary.

I searched for a very long time to find a therapist that felt right for me and three members of my family. I was really excited when Lyon Counseling center started accepting my insurance. I liked the idea of all of us seeing therapists in the same organization for ease of consultations and cross-over therapy sessions if/when needed. When I reviewed Lyon Counseling Center's website, I felt very optimistic that we were on the right path.

Nicole is the one who usually answers the phone and returns voice mail messages. She was so helpful and supportive, working with us to find the right therapist for each one of us! I am not sure if the procedure is the same for all their therapists, but my initial contact was the same for the rest of the people in my family.

When a therapist came available that seemed to be a good fit, she reached out to me via email. Then we scheduled a phone call for 'a vibe check' (as my daughter puts it). We spoke for about 20-30 minutes, getting to know each other and discussed my goals for therapy. Then we discussed whether or not we felt like we were a good fit for each other to determine if we should schedule a therapy session, or move on to the next 'vibe check'.

Luckily, I clicked with my therapist and she has been tremendously helpful over these last few months. My husband and son both also had good first conversations and moved onto regular therapy sessions. My daughter didn't quite click with her first therapist phone call so she going to speak to a second therapist to see if they have a better connection.

I so appreciate this approach! For me, therapy was really hard to get started. I saw a therapist a few years ago and we just dove right into therapy sessions, never really exploring if we were a good match, which we weren't; by then I was afraid to say anything. Needless to say, therapy under those circumstances was just awkward and ineffective.

The connection is SO important so you can build the trust needed to really let go and dig deep and make the progress needed.

I hope Lyon Counseling Center can be as helpful for you as it has been for me and my family!

Cannot recommend enough. Melissa is one of the most genuine people I have ever met. Her care for her clients is truly unmatched. She is a wonderful listener and is not afraid to dig deeper and challenge you when needed. She follows up and truly cares about you. She wants to make sure you are making progress. This is a place that cares not only for the client but the family as well. You will not regret reaching out to this team.

I have had the pleasure of working with two of the therapists here. They both are absolutely amazing! My therapist is beyond knowledgeable, supportive and amazing. He has been thee only therapist to actually help me out of all of the many, many therapists through the many years of therapy I have had. I had actually found Lyon counseling on google, I emailed the therapist and within 10 mins of leaving an email, I got a call from him. Within 20 mins I was scheduling an appointment, he was very encouraging and he made me feel hopeful right off the bat. He truly knows how to help people and comes by it naturally, this is most definitely the job he is meant to do. He actually helped me get my daughter set up with another therapist with lyon counseling. The other therapist I have gotten the pleasure to work with works with my daughter and she is absolutely amazing, the very first session my daughter had with her, my daughter told her more than she had ever told her other therapist in 2.5 years of seeing her. She is super sweet and kind and is great at what she does. I CANNOT say enough good things about the two therapist I have had the pleasure of working with. They both have gone above and beyond for my family. Best call I ever made was to Lyon Counseling. The offices are clean, and tidy yet still comfortable and welcoming. The fact that they have a therapy pup is a huge, huge plus and has really helped get my daughter to her appointments without a fight and she looks forward to seeing her therapist and therapy pup. You will not regret calling them!!

Lyon Counseling Center is a fantastic practice with caring, compassionate, and professional therapists. If you're reading the reviews for Lyon Counseling, you're probably in the right place and should just reach out to see how they can help: that's often the most difficult part. They have a number of people on staff and I'm sure there is bound to be an individual in the practice to connect with. I've been working with Melissa since October 2020 and wholly and completely recommend her to anyone considering seeking therapy. Melissa is one of the first therapists who I feel is genuinely invested in my progress. She is compassionate and thorough, and offers pragmatic and actionable suggestions to navigate any challenges that tend to come my way. It has taken months of work and it's still ongoing, but I genuinely feel better overall for having been here.

Very thankful for my time seeing a therapist at LCC! I was placed with a therapist quickly and the staff were very willing to help me find the right therapist for what I was looking for. Chelsea is kind, accepting, extremely flexible and supportive. I had many days that I was needing to change our time/ day of therapy and she was more than accommodating for my schedule and current needs. Her positive nature really helped me through discovering my strengths and building positive habits to cope with my anxiety and ADHD. The space is warm and inviting as well which helped to build comfortability when attending sessions. Seeing a therapist at Lyon counseling center was truly the best thing I did for myself last year, I would highly recommend seeing a therapist here.
