I'm really grateful for the Litehouse YMCA and the community there. Litehouse is halfway between my home in Ionia and my office in East Grand Rapids, so the early morning classes are awesome for me. I've enjoyed getting acquainted with the regulars as I become a regular myself! Group fitness classes are so so excellent and I'm grateful for all the instructors I've taken classes with, especially Jayce. With her instruction, I feel confident that I'm using proper form in intense classes to protect my body from injury that would derail my fitness journey while still challenging my body to grow in strength, fitness and endurance. I hope that more people join and or more people who keep their primary membership at a different GR-area YMCA move their membership to Litehouse so that it can continue to grow group exercise options. It seems like the excellent classes are bursting at the seams!

February 2025 update, to address previous issues that have not been addressed whatsoever. Staff is absolutely outstanding, facility not so much.

1. The drinking fountains sit directly in the middle of the freeweight workout area. You will routinely and regularly have to find an alternative zigzag route around people actively working out to simply get a drink or refill the water bottle. Completely idiotic positioning of something that is utilized by almost everybody in the facility.

2. There are offices that sit directly by squat racks that prevent more racks from being added. Why is there an office, squat rack, office, squat rack, another random room? You could easily have 5 to 6 squat racks there if there were no offices.

3. KidZone. It takes up such a large portion of the facility. The facility itself is already not big enough to handle the crowds. Treadmills are routinely full, The two squat racks taken up regularly, and machines constantly put inrandom positions hoping to free up more room. Move the KidZone to the house outside of the building, incorporate more work out facility.

4. No towels. Consider me OG, but I remember distinctly having towels. Every single year you keep increasing the rate to work out there, yet the amenities keep shrinking. Towels, towels, towels. Did I mention towels?

Again, to reiterate, the staff here is absolutely phenomenal and go above and beyond. Whoever approved the design of the building, should never be put in charge of doing so again. All the best

The team is fantastic, always upbeat and ready to assist. The trainers are real pros helping you progress. The facility is always very clean and there's plenty of the best equipment to git r dun!

Brilliant thinking bringing in technology classes like robotics and ham radio for all ages. Top of the line workout center, and quality staff and instructors.

The Lowell YMCA upgraded in so many positive ways. I would like to start with just how welcoming and helpful the staff is. I am always welcomed with a hello and they take the time to remember your name. The facility is always very clean and I often see member's of the staff cleaning the machines all time of the day. The kid zone staff is absolutely the best. They take such good care of the kiddos, you know that when you drop your little off that they will be interacted with and cared for to the best of their ability. The only complaints I have is that there is only one flat bench press. That can get tied up for a while during busy hours. And possibly adding a Jacob's ladder machine and remove some of the stationary bikes would add a great element to the cardio area. All in all I would and do recommend this facility to everyone in the local area.

This neighborhood gem is a fantastic asset for our community. The facility is clean, well set up and welcoming. Very accessible and not intimidating like its larger counterparts. A personal gym in my backyard !

Love this gym. No other good gyms in the Lowell area and my wife and I love going here. All the staff is amazing and it’s really a family like atmosphere there. My daughter goes to the kids zone daily and she absolutely loves it too! Very happy with our membership

The Litehouse family YMCA has a phenomenal atmosphere, new equipment, friendly staff, and is a great gym to get a good workout! As a man in a wheelchair, I love that a few key machines are accessible. It really makes it easy to hit the essential muscle groups regardless of my handicap. The environment of the gym-goers is very friendly. I've seen old, young, experienced, and novice clients get treated very respectfully. Overall, I hit this gym two times a week, and have been really enthused with it!
