Myself and a family member went there to get help on our DTE shut off notice and they helped us apply for the LSP program and I got accepted. I only have to pay $95 a month. What a blessing!!

A great place to donate clothes, furniture and household items. They give it to needy families for free. At this location they have after school programs, help veterans, teach job skills to women and more.

Around Christmas time you can adopt a family in need. Closer to the 25th they have s party that buyers and receivers of the gifts can go to. The E.D. will buy presents herself if she has to so no child has to go without a gift on Christmas morning. Now it’s clear who Santa is!

This non-profit used to be located in the heart of the Hispanic area of Detroit. After their recent move they serve more non Latinos than before. LFS has always served the poor of the area regardless of their origin or skin color. When I spoke to the executive director, she shared some positives about the move saying that the people in her new area are generous with their time.
