Long drive on gravel roads about 30-45 min very interesting they do not know why but there are about 600 bison fossils in this one area.

This is another off the beaten path historical site in the Oglala Grasslands. Again our granddaughter was able to do some hands on "exploring" and earn a badge. The facility has been updated and has a very helpful staff. We made this jog after stopping for lunch at the High Plains Homestead. It has some older pioneer type buildings and provides a varied lunch. A welcome stop after visiting Toadstool Park.

Very interesting and educational place! It's kid friendly too! The bone bed is amazing! The rangers are very informative and kind! I would definitely return again if the drive weren't so long!

I read about this site in the May/June issue of Archaeology. I was uncertain if the site would be worth the trip from Rapid City, SD, but we were so glad we visited. This is the only bison kill site I've ever seen and it really helps put Native hunting and subsistence in perspective.

Stumbled on this site while visiting Fort Robinson. It is beyond amazing!!! The history is spectacular and the artifacts will blow you away. Staff is very informative.

The staff seemed intelligent, and the visible dig site was interesting, albeit small. My favorite portion was throwing the atlatl. I could have done that for hours.
