I’m so glad we stopped! The place was clean, bright and inviting. The smell of balsam greeted me at the door. They have products that have been made on their campus, as well as a large variety from makers all from Maine. The hours have changed so I have suggested the edit they are open Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 10 to 5.

HOME inc is suppose to be a non profit organization and care about their communities yet just forced my sons roommate out of his business he was running for almost two years at their Orland location all because they wanted way more $$$ in rent from him than that run down building is even worth they wouldn’t fix anything when he asked them too and if they did it was half done but the minute the post office which is also in the same building needed something it was done and their rent never went up and they wasn’t also asked to pay utilities like they wanted from my sons roommate because he was running a small business and doing really well too so because HOME wanted to be greedy he was forced to shut down and take away something wonderful that the community and his supporters loved more than anything.... makes ya wonder how a non profit organization can even run and call themselves wonderful when really their horrible

Love the staff here. And the food. Check out the craft store all handmade here in Maine. Food boxes are available here and the bargin barn is a great second hand place to shop. Also a church here, garage and saw mill and a day care and adult ed. And they offer some craft lessons cheap.

Beautiful and peaceful place where people are friendly and courteous. Many shops and quaint gardens to walk by and a cute little old style chapel that makes the whole place come together. Highly recommend you stop here even to just look around...

Backwoods gift shop. Very homey. May just have gifts you can't find anywhere else. Very crafty. Also there is a seamstress shot upstairs if you need a zipper fixed or curtains made

If you want souvenirs, gifts or things that are handmade, there are excellent finds in the craft shop. If you can spend money or donate the organization is worthy; any money or item(s) will be apreciated. Stop as you travel Route 3 between Bucksport and Elsworth. My wife and I know their work well; it is a calling that's been heard for two generations.
