You can walk in for voluteer hours for school or court. People are friendly and there is plenty to do. Make sure to bring in your own paperwork and leave it there... will get your copy in a couple of days. They do good work for the community.

Expired food is being given to those in need. Very unfortunate that this is happening. This organization will not only turn away volunteers but they are also unorganized. I do not see myself coming back to volunteer here. as sad as that is, I cannot support this group for their lack of compassion.

I came in to do 4 hours of experiential learning for my Peer leadership course at Washington State University Global Campus. I did packing and went out to feed the homeless. Meet really nice people from the community, Starbucks employees and others. I had a rewarding day and it was nice. I plan to come back on my free time and help out. You should too! 🙂

Helping hands pantry am sorry to say it but it's a fraudulent organization, you guys don't provide food to the need you SALE THE GOOD FOOD, when I went to do my research at your location 1455 E 3rd St, San Berdardino CA I was shock with what I witnessed there.
First it all your staff hand pick the good food to sale or for themselves.
Staff is extremely rude and disrespectful.
Food that is giving away to the people is rotten, yes ROTTEN food and food that has being EXPIRED for over 5 MONTHS!!!!!!!
I ONLY HAVE ONE QUESTIONS FOR THIS ORGANIZATION.

I took my 2 sons to Helping Hands as a prearranged volunteer assignment to assist in feeding the homeless on Christmas morning. Instead of helping distribute hot meals to designated locations, the Director wanted myself, my 9 year old and my 15 year old to clean his warehouse. I decided that was not what I volunteered for, so we went with the other volunteers to deliver food. After being at the first location for a short period of time the Director rolled up to the location and aggressively approached me with his finger on my face and demanded that I leave because he specifically had told me to stay behind and clean his warehouse. He then accused me of making a mockery out of the homeless and suggested that I was merely there to "gawk" at them. Mind you, there was NO ONE even there! Although I wanted to really tell him off. I politely left with my kids. Why in the world would I take my kids out on Christmas morning to gawk at homeless. Are you kidding. Aren't we all just a payday away from being homeless? This was the meanest person I have ever met in my life. God knows my heart and intentions.
