Just wanted to give a 5 star review to the staff here at HFUW they helped me with my emergency today! I was out of all other options and they came through for me. Very nice and professional staff. I can't thank them enough. God bless you all 5?

I would imagine this will be deleted but my neighbors house burned down. She works for Publix and gives to the United Way. In fact they have a special United Way fund for their workers.
She got a representative who was
more interested in getting her W2's and info about her income. They had no place to stay or money. We took them in our small house. 5 people and 3 dogs and a disabled husband
They needed money to rent a place.
United Way would not help.

My light bill was gonna get disconnected thankfully I went in person and spoke to someone face to face and explain my situation! They went ahead and paid my full amount of my light bill leaving it at $0.00 and my light bill will continue to be on! They’re the best and I’m grateful they assist me WHEN I need the help!!! AMAZING COMPANY ! 5/5

ONE STAR IS TOOOOOO GENEROUS. THIS PLACE IS A JOKE, THEY DON'T CALL YOU AND YOU CAN'T CALL THEM. I GOT A CALL THURSDAY LAST WEEK REGARDING MY APPLICATION. I WAS TOLD TO LEAVE COMMENTS ON MY APPLICATION TO LET THEM KNOW AND FOLLOW UP. I SPENT ALL DAY FRIDAY AND TODAY TRYING TO REACH SOMEONE REGARDING MY APPLICATION. I NEVER GOT A CALL BACK. INSTEAD THEY DENIED MY APPLICATION. I HAVE LEFT COMMENTS ON MY APPLICATION TO DUKE AND INSTEAD THEY DENIED ME. I HAVE 5 KIDS. DUKE IS A SCAM. MY ENERGY BILL IS 1444 AND I CAN'T AFFORD IT. NOW I CAN'T RE-APPLY. NO ONE EVEN BOTHERED CALLING ME BACK TO FOLLOW UP. KIELER OR WHATEVER HER NAME IS, DIDN'T BOTHER CALLING ME BACK OR EVEN ANSWERING MY APPLICATION COMMENTS. SHE JUST STRAIGHT UP DENIED IT.

I usually don’t take the time to give reviews but I feel like I have to.When I say PIPER was so nice and helpful it’s really an understatement!! She was so helpful I had called so many different places trying to get the answers that I needed in regards to court ordered parenting classes, and I was getting nowhere.Honestly I was starting to get discouraged.I called 211 from TN and got help from united way heart of Florida.Thank God for PIPER I finally got the answers I needed and the biggest thing for me was I was a little ashamed because having to take court ordered parenting classes to me is embarrassing PIPER still talked to me like I was a human unlike anybody else I’ve spoke to.I do not know this woman but God bless her and keep her safe she was definitely an angel.thank you Piper!! You do not know how much I appreciate your time my friend.Thanks again (I wish I could give her 10 stars..She definitely deserves more than 5)

One star is too generous. If you are going to rely on this unorganized scam artist company please save your energy because waiting on them for assistance you could do bad by your d@mn self. Having said that, I took my time to fill out and complete the hurricane assistance form they released to the public and after submitting the information and taking a screen shot of the submission page I read that they would get back to whomever submitted the form in an email to confirm. Needless to say I did not receive an email, a call or even a smoke signal from these shisters, so I immediately contacted them. Once I contacted them I was on hold for at least 20 min. and when someone finally answered I might as well have been talking to my left foot because the representative had the personality of a wet dish cloth. Not only was she no help she had the nerve to deflect and ask me if I filled out a form for DSNAP and switched the subject about how they "dropped the ball." The next time I see anything with the United Way's name attached to it pertaining to anything for assistance I won't hold my breath.

Simply an outstanding organization. As a disabled veteran, My family and I were homeless in 2011, and In need of desperate help. The Heart of Florida United Way stepped into our lives, gave us undivided attention, and helped place us in our rental home that we lived in to date. When doors were shut to my family and I, the Heart of Florida United Way, and their staff, opened the important doors needed for our lives to move forward.
I could never thank this organization enough for the great impact they made in our lives.
