I was sent here the night after I attempted suicide at age 14 and I’m only now, as an adult many years later, realizing how bad White Pine is (or was.)
To start, the “care” you receive just means they leave you in a room with a glorified babysitter ill-equipped to protect these kids from themselves and from others by means other than tranquilizer shots, which kids colloquially titled “booty darts.” In the time I was there, I witnessed several physical fights and probably spent more time hiding under a table or sitting in a corner than I ever did receiving help.
When they did bother to treat you, it was by sending you to a psychiatrist who acted like they’d rather be doing anything else than talking to you. To their credit, they correctly identified the prescription I needed as Prozac, however they prescribed it in 80mg per day right off the bat, which is the maximum dosage usually recommended for ADULTS. I was a 5’2 barely-teenaged ball of tears and rage being treated, medically speaking, like an adult.
Other treatment included group “therapy” where no one was keen on honesty because you’d look like a coward in front of the big kids or be stuck in this prison longer if you got too honest.
Speaking of, I had been keen on starving myself the first few days I was there, but more helpful than the coercion, threats or ‘help’ from any staff or therapist was other kids telling me if I refused to eat, the staff would keep me here longer. Honestly, I think I got more help from my roommate and two or three friends than I ever did the staff.
I couldn’t tell you if this place has changed - the fact that they seem to have wiped all traces of the name “White Pine” from the internet and replaced it with “Healthsource” would indicate not - but either way, I beg any parent who may be reading this to do. Your. Research before you send your kid ANYWHERE, especially for medical care and ESPECIALLY when they are in a mentally fragile state.
TL;DR: White Pine messed me up more than it helped me half a decade ago.

My daughter was admitted Jan 25. Terrible terrible communication. Maddison the social worker says she will call you back with information on your child family member, however she does not. Upon DC they scheduled appts for my daughter next day am without even notifying me. Do not admit your family member to HS. You will not be happy. Zero star review if I could.

While some units actually care about the resident here on the wheels unit the staff are not only incompetent but lazy and rude. From day one I have had staff leave full urinals on my table, tell me they will be back and never do, even when I hit my call light I've had a wait time of an hour before someone came in to check on me, and meds hours behind schedule.

Not a bad place however Dr. Kahn Attif provided Me with a Risperdal injection with little to no consult, the injection was rushed and I have experienced terrible complications from this "treatment". My primary Doctor feels this was an egregious violation of medical practices and the Do No Harm, Do Know Harm conscripts of Medical practices. I also found Dr. Kahn argumentive, condescending and abusive in My contact's with Him. This leads Me to wonder where in the Hell did You find this "Doctor"? I'm positive that I'm not His only victim.

Garden area . Was visiting my mom 11/24/24 around 1pm she was eating lunch and they forgot her pop so I went to nurses station and they called down and kitchen brought one. She has been having issue with her tv for over a month. Today her remote wasnt working went to nurses station older lady was rude. Younger lady got new batteries and said if still wasnt working to let them know they would get a hold of maintence. The remote was working then tv went out no signal so I went down to nurses station again to let them know and the older lady was so rude yet again. She does not belong working their if she cant treat patients and family better. Its their home they pay good money to be taken care of not treated like their in human . Society is to acceptable of treating people poorly and think nothing of it. Do better people or find another job.

Absolutely horrible facility. Horrible horrible horrible. Patients with clearly psychotic symptoms are allowed to roam free and shout whatever they like. Dr. Movva is the worst doctor I’ve ever had, but my other was a close second. Dr. Movva was rude, careless and apathetic to patients conditions. Both just threw pills at me to meet their goal of 67% rehabilitated. The showers barely work and last about five seconds before you have to hit the pump again. Group meetings are terrible. The staff there can’t spell for their life. The staff were irritated, short with you and unwilling to help patients beyond giving them an atarax, you take that and your condition might as well be cured to them. Food is also terrible, sparse and often meals are mismatched or just lacking in what you ordered. I cannot express enough how terrible the staff were. Most are clearly uneducated because like I said they cannot spell. They cannot offer help other than citing their coping skills worksheet which could’ve been written by a 10 year old. Not only that they would mock patients within earshot. The nurses are hardly qualified to help anyways. It would take about 20 minutes for them to do anything. They're all dull in the head and just don’t care. This facility should be shut down and I would not recommend it to any living being down to bacteria, which trust me there’s a lot of they don’t clean anything. Someone at the beginning of my stay said jail was better and by the end I agreed. All of the one stars are accurate.

i was involuntarily held in healthsource saginaw for two weeks and in that time i received extremely poor, nonscientific- bordering on nonsensical medical care for mental health. i showed presenting with treatment resistant melancholic depression after an attempt and they prescribed me cymbalta & mitrazapine; one of which is a serotinin reuptake drug (doesnt show clinically significant action on noradrenaline for depression, failed trials first time it was vying for approval) and mitrazapine (which despite press copy isnt an antidepressant at all; rather a strong histamine blocker). this combo of “california rocket fuel” was rather common among the other patients i talked to as well, despite there being no sensible mechanism in which this could treat melancholic or psychotic depression, known withdrawl, and common side effects. the science still shows clomipramine as the gold standard, with an maoi (potentially augmented with nortriptyline or DNRI) being the only thing effective for TRD after their failure. if i knew so little about medications it was my job to prescribe and i was so comfortable with such marginal improvements in such a critical facility id be personally be humiliated. im not asking for knowledge on cutting edge treatments like TrkB drugs, i just expect the quality of care to not be substantively poorer then my grandparents would’ve received. avoid this place like the plague- they do not understand the medications they are using and from my experience are proud to parrot drug company adverts even when both observational and scientific evidence run contradictory.

My experience with this facility should be zero stars. My wife went to an emergency room hospital on the west side of the state. Due to no beds available locally she was transferred to HealthSource the next day. She has now been there for almost a week. Absolutely no communication with anyone about her condition. No one has even told me what she's been diagnosed with. I know she is there because I needed to travel across the state to bring her clothes. She did sign a consent letter for release of information. In essence, it seems like she's been abducted.
