Used to love this place, often they have decor, furniture, or remodeling pieces and can help save money. Today I purchased 2 large canvases and a piece of furniture meant to hold a large trash can as well as some smaller items. After moving stuff around in the car, we had to pull out a piece of styrofoam in order to fit the furniture piece and could not fit it in the car again without someone holding it in their lap. Since it was smaller than what we purchased, and would compress in a dumpster, we didn’t think it would be a problem to set it in their dumpster so I walked around with it while my spouse and brother finished packing up the car. An employee approached me and let me know that was generally not allowed but I could ask inside if it was okay. I said alright and went back and grabbed it and was waiting for the car to pick me up. Since I didn’t immediately walk away, he got another employee to come and yell at me about it and tell me well we have to pay for trash… well yeah most of us do, but I bought more than this amount and can’t fit it in the car. She said well it’s not allowed because we have to pay for trash and gave me a rude look like she was waiting for me to walk somewhere else instead of waiting for my car? My brother and my spouse and I were out for their birthdays and wanted to enjoy shopping but instead my day was ruined by being yelled at and my brother has to hold trash in his lap so now we’re just going home because the vibe is ruined. Just a really rude encounter and we likely will not be back. Used to be in there weekly and liked the staff and atmosphere so left a second star because this wasn’t them. Just super disappointed in what was supposed to be a good cause

Some great deals. Just don't buy receptacles, switches, or outlet boxes there. Often Menards sells those cheaper. Same with circuit breakers, some are priced well, some aren't. Mostly great deals though. Some really good deals on furniture. I'd avoid all the ceiling fans. New fans are so inexpensive and there are no worries about missing parts/instructions. Probably pass on most of the ceiling lights as well unless you find a style you really like. It's always iffy installing used/old electrical devices that may be missing parts or the safety features of new equipment. Be aware that safety features such as thermal cutoffs and ground wires may be altered, missing, or never existed due to date of manufacture. Typically friendly staff.

Always some treasure waiting for you! Great prices and bargains. The staff is always helpful and friendly in a relaxed atmosphere.
I've found numerous high quality items for my fixer-upper. My house looks fabulous for a fraction of the price 🙂

Good prices for the most part. I recently was able to pick up a few items for next to nothing. It's typically a luck of the draw. They're always busy. You need to go there at least once or twice a week in order to find good stuff.

Went into this "thrift store" to purchase some plumbing items. When I saw the prices were double to triple "new store" items I contacted the manager, explained my question as to the prices. She stated she would not be changing the price. SHOP AROUND AND PRICE COMPARISON BEFORE SHOPPING HERE. Will return but not without a list of other prices elsewhere first.

I was a huge fan of the Onalaska Restore. I have bought many like-new remodeling items from it. However, I had an experience today that brought my opinion of the store from 5 stars to 3 stars.
I wanted to drop off 2 sinks, one like-new and the second brand new never used. The doors were open and staff was within view by the dumpster. They refused to allow me to drop my sinks off and wanted me to come back in 20 minutes when the store was "officially open" at 10 am. I was in a big hurry and could not come back.
I think that is ridiculous when staff was right there. I will not be patronizing the restore any more, either to purchase or donate. I would not recommend this store to anyone else. This is supposed to be a service both for the store and it's patrons. This experience proved that the store thinks otherwise.

Great place for landlords and small home projects. Hours are goofy and it's a drive to only find out they do not have what you are looking for. You can find wonderful deals when they do have it in Stock. I found a stand up freezer for only 60 dollars.
