Goodwill Retail Store - Hendersonville, Tennessee

Goodwill recently let me go due to people lying on me and when they terminated me they didn’t pay me for the bonus that I was supposed to receive as well.

This company do not care for the people they only care about making their pockets bigger while keeping others down.

People can not speak out on things without there being retaliation and it’s really sad when you see people are being taken advantage of and being lied on, but the store manager is the reason I lost my job, because he never took any of the concerns I had or anyone in the building had serious.

I have been cursed out and approached in negative ways at this company and nothing was never done about it. To the point where HR told me the difference between me and my managers is because I’m black and they are white. This is so wrong and I am speaking out even more now that I do not work at this company. So many employees that can vouch for me and tell the truth can’t speak up without them losing their jobs or having to deal with the same thing I had to deal with. Anonymous calls was against me, because the store manager allowed employees to go over his head to report lies and he did nothing about it and I have a paper trail showing that everything that took place he did nothing about.

To the point where the Regional manager told him about an investigation that was on employees and that information was not supposed to be told to him and she told him and he told me.

This is the only company that I have worked at where discrimination, favoritism, and defamation of character is at. When I spoke on things I spoke on fakes without lying about anything and telling them what I did and said and not once did I get in trouble, because I did what I was suppose to do but when complaints come of course they don’t ask you about the situation they give you a document conversation or a PTE and tell you this is what was said and here is your paper work and if this happens again the process will continue.

Even time I tried to explain myself, the store manager, HR VP, and regional manager did nothing they protected him and allowed everyone to disrespect me and they didn’t care. I had to come to work scared of losing my job only to lose my job, because individuals that didn’t like me and that wasn’t doing their job called the work hotline number and lied on me.

I’m upset, because this companies values, morals and everything they say they stand for was broken and when I tried to tell my story nobody listened but they say they are here to help people where was my help in fixing what was wrong in the store.

Yes they will take this post down, because they do not want to hear the truth, but I pray that people start speaking out and exposing people for who they really are.

Everything that seems perfect isn’t perfect and nobody took the time to help me and every time I reached out to my HR Vp or my Regional Manager they never got back with me on the situations. I was told when I got the job that The HR VP and The Regional Manager has their favorites and if you go against them you will be blacklisted and that what happened to me.

I have lost my job and now I can’t afford to pay my bills and I can’t go and just get another job, because of my background and they knew that when they hired me, because I told them I will do everything I am suppose to do and I did.

In my file they gave me a document conversation for my attendance and I wasn’t late three time in one month. The store manager is the type of person that do wrong and then pay victim instead of taken accountability. When I first got the job he would get me to smoke with him in his car, but when i started stepping back and doing the right things he started treating me differently. People that do wrong will always protect each other.

All I wanted to do was come to work do my job and enjoy doing what I love to do and that’s making a difference in people’s life and now look at me.

Great prices and but enough cashiers... I'm in line behind 25 people waiting ... only 1 cashier... something is very wrong with this operation...

I found a new Broken Threads zipper hoodie for only $6. I think it's a very nice find and I'm glad someone donated it to Goodwill instead of trashing it.

About like any other Goodwill. We didn’t have an issue with anything or anyone. Selection was right on par with everywhere else. Everything was in order and was easy to find. Every employee we dealt with was nice. The one who checked us out was super pleasant. Like most Goodwills, the line was long as they only had a couple of people working the checkouts. But wasn’t super slow. We found several deals on items and was happy. I’ll be back to see what kind of deals I can secure in the future.

I just want u to know that I have been in this store so many different times to buy stuff and I would like u to know that I am never coming back especially when the management team and the employees are rude. Not all employees and not all management but a lot of the employees there are rude. Maybe they don't like their job or maybe they don't like each other but someone needs to speak to them all, because it's upsetting to come in there and see them being rude with each other and then they be rude to us customers. I rather go back to Rivergate and Gallatin to buy my stuff. The floors are nasty, and there have clothes everywhere.

I’ve finally had the courage to write this review. I’ve shopped from this business for so many years and once in a while I experience some type of attitude or racism from certain employees. I brush it off but today I had my limit to where hopefully this can be fixed by management after seeing my review. The older lady in the front by the register I accidentally came across her into her in a corner of an isle and she demands me rudely to “go that way” pointing her finger to another direction. Didn’t hear a “I’m sorry or excuse me.” I proceeded to go where she pointed and told her myself “ I’m sorry ma’am.” She ignored and kept walking.
The other employee was another man who was putting up clothes into their proper isle from a rack. He goes to the isle I was shopping at and he just gets infront of me and hangs the clothes and walks away. Didn’t say excuse me. I let it’s slide then he comes again a minute later and squeezes it infront of me again and I backed away and I said “excuse me” same thing he ignored me and walked away. We need friendlier employees in this store. I’ve never experienced this type of attitude at no other goodwill in Tennessee.

Well this place had gotten better but then today May 3rd 2024 I got cursed out by a male employee for touching an item on a cart that was one of 3 carts just sitting full of items waiting to be placed on the shelf. Well before today this location would allow you to look at the items in the carts with no problem. I apologized to the man and explained they used to let us. So he proceeds to curse me out again. So I apologized a 2nd time and got cursed out again. Then stalked throughout the store like I was being targeted by a hitman. All over a 5x8 picture frame.
