WHAT a JOKE !!!! For starters. The receptionist Crystal was one of the rudes i ever dealt with on the phone. Not polite, Not cortious, Not a good listener. Hangs up the phone when your trying to gather information but she doesn't have the time to direct you to someone who might actually HELP. Very threatening towards me after being homeless off a on for over 10 years because of my disability . Brenna Zawacki is supposed to be the case worker trying to help but doesn't answer her phone and her voicemail because it's full since i initially met so now i can't even leave a message. So when i was on the phone finally texting cause they almost never answer there phone at there office . Brenna Zawacki say I should not be threatening or disrespectful towards the staff when I wasnt even past there receptionist Crystal on the phone with absolutely no help. This office is a disgrace an an embarrassment towards Good Samaritan's. I talking to a attorney about suing the office in Holland Michigan for a defimation of my character and slander just because Im homeless an search for some HElP through them.....

Terrible place they deleted my first review just don’t come this place

These people didn't want to help me because I had a past. They were rude, condescending, and said I had too many barriers to get an apartment and that helping with a deposit and rent (as promised) would not be a good investment. Literally told me I was not a "good candidate" for their money, and I never heard from them again. Today? I've been in the same complex for 2 years. Never late on rent, I am in charge of resident council with another resident (and staff member of course), I just finished my bachelor's degree in behavioral science, emphasis in trauma, and I quit smoking 61 days ago. The problem here is that they judged me based on information and situations they had no clue of. (Trauma) They wrote me off as a "bad candidate" who didn't deserve their money. They used abusive language. They gave me attitudes. I was treated so poorly based on my past. They are just one in SEVERAL organizations that told me I couldn't. Told me I'd never make it. The same people and organizations that claim to be housing specialists. Most of us have or had a past. There's a reason we're struggling. It's Thanks to this type of treatment, bias, and ignorance, a good majority of people never find sustainable housing. You're out there telling us we are not worth it, LITERALLY, but claiming to understand housing barriers and the homeless population. It's so contradictive. You were clearly wrong about me. Next time, take the time to understand. So that it doesn't take the next person that's "different" with a past 3 extra years to be where I am now. (Postong publicly since you never decided to email a response of any kind) If a response is made here, I clearly don't have the opportunity to rebuttle, but you know. Just stop telling people they can't and start telling them they can, and actually HELP them overcome those barriers. I could've been where I'm at now a couple of years ago if that were my case. It's the reason I chose this degree path. It's the reason Im set to enroll in the MSW program in just a couple of months. The reason is to change the system. The reasons is organizations, churches, and people like you. Thanks.

I love they help "some" people, but there are also people that are not worth their time and considered to "not be a good candidate." Sometimes tell people they will help, then not answer their calls for two weeks, then leave a rather rude message saying they won't be helping you. It's like any other organization set up to help. They will help you if they feel you are worth it.

It was very caring at Good Samaritan. Gave me option of lower places to rent because of my income. Was patient with me as far as helping me feel out of the parts of the application that I didn't understand. I was very satisfied, thank you people of Good Samaritans you help my high blood pressure go down.

Good Samaritan has been a source of incredible help and support during our time in our new condo. They are kind, understanding and, most of all, supportive, during times of need. Marie, one of the employees, has been beyond helpful in every way imaginable. We have had nothing but great interactions with them and the way they do business can only be described as top-notch customer service and management of our needs. We would whole-heartedly recommend their services to anyone in need of help.

They are trash. I have contacted them on a weekly to monthly bases about my status with my confirmation number and Sarah continued to say she would get back to me. She offered in April to help me look for apartments by june she said she no longer worked for that department and by June 4th after speaking to her I was removed from the section 8 list.

Called housing authority to report the random removal and they said they were a private organization and couldn't do any despite section 8 being federal.

Unless you live in a car, they can not help. You can get the list of low income housing online. Truly a waste of my time. Ridiculous to think they APPROVE the section 8 voucher but is sent from DHS. Neither of the two agencies communicate with each other.
