I really liked how the staff (from reception to tech to vet) treated my two puppy bros! I also appreciate that we worked with an all women team who thoroughly explained what was going on, gave us the options for testing with transparent pricing, made me feel like I was doing a good job as a new dog mom, and set us up for success for home. I think there’s a chance the experience level varies depending on what tech helps you out, one was more comfortable and efficient than the other but overall my dogs walked out happy and healthier. The prices were lower than I expected especially for all of the care and meds for ear infections they received. I feel so relieved we have a place nearby that’s already starting to get to know them. Thank you GSHS!

Very understanding and respectful, saw someone upset because they didn't understand the instructions they were given. The lady was still kind and understanding. My cat came back without being mad at me, this is after being spayed. 6 stars if I could.

Took my dog to Golden State Humane Society as a last-minute walk-in. While there were no guarantees, I decided to wait, and within 15 minutes, we were seen and taken care of. Natalie, the doctor, and the staff were incredibly kind and helpful!

I rarely write reviews, but today I'm making an exception. I've had dogs all my life and have brought them here before, where the customer service has always been fine. However, today I had a different experience.

I was standing in line, keeping a 6-foot distance, while an employee was helping another customer. Suddenly, while still assisting that customer, the employee looked over at me and yelled, "You need to put the kitten in your car or in a carrier." She kept repeating it. I responded, "Okay," and she mentioned that they sell carriers for $12. I said "Okay" again, while trying to translate for my mom. At this point, people around me were staring, and I felt embarrassed. The employee continued talking, adding that they might not even see the kitten if she wasn’t 2 pounds—again, while still assisting the other customer.

Feeling uncomfortable, I decided to leave. I later called and spoke to the "manager" to explain the issue of poor customer service. However, instead of addressing that, the manager kept reiterating the importance of the kitten being in a carrier, missing the point of my complaint altogether.

I have been taking my cat to various other vets around Long Beach and Norwalk because he seemed to be having or developing some type of urinary problem. I’m fully aware that male cats have a stronger possibility of having urinary problems. However, I’ve had multiple Boy✨ cats I have never had any type of urinary problems that I have now. I took him to Petco. They just charged me money for a bunch of Tests that all came out negative, so I didn’t know what was wrong with him. Another vet recommended am p.m. ideal pet care in Norwalk that vet just charge me a bunch of money for medication’s that made my cat vomit and not feel better at all, and x-rays and a urine analysis that found nothing a few days later I started to notice that my cat was going back-and-forth from the litter box, I kind of assumed that maybe he was constipated due to the change of food however, closer to about midnight I went to give him a bath and he started peeing blood. I rush him to the ER. The ER told me that most likely he has FLUTD that it’s incurable he’s gonna have his problem for the rest of his life. They attempted to charge me $6000 to essentially “fix him” I spent the entire night in the emergency room, crying my eyes out thinking that the only possible option would be to put him down because that vet explained to me that he would have this problem for the rest of his life and that it would be a constant money issue, I then decided to come to Golden State Humane Society as my last resort and let them know that the last vet recommended euthanize, and I was fully prepared to have them put him down because they seem to have a way nicer process. As soon as I mention this, the nurse brought me into the waiting room where I waited to have him put down she told me that the doctor wanted to see him before we made any final decisions like that so she brings me back to the room immediately sees him. I let her know of everything that he was having. She immediately tells me that there’s nothing wrong with him, and that he would not need to be put down. She prescribed me some medicines that all worked fantastically. My cat literally was peeing within an hour of us leaving the vet in total, I only paid $160, from every other vet that I went to I left paying a minimum of $800 per visit. Here I was seen by Dr. Wood at the Golden State Humane Society and I love her so much. I asked her if there was a possibility of me making her my primary vet just because of how good she is , if you’re having any issues, I would recommend this facility over every other one, especially Dr.Wood I am so grateful for her and my cat is such a happy life because this team!! It turned out that my cat in fact was just a super stressed out Kat and she helped me with some recommendations to make his environment less stressful for him as well as some supplements that would help with stress as well.

Came here August 20th to get my boy neutered, get microchipped, and have a hernia fixed.
Making an appointment was easy -- just call during business hours, and ask for an appointment!
The appointment went smoothly with check in at 8am, a separate line forming for spay/neuter appointments from the non-spay/neuter appointments. Show proof of vaccination, get weighed (for safe meditation administration), get temperature taken, then go back to get spayed or neutered. Staff was friendly despite the large amount of people and animals coming through just at 8am!

At 3pm I returned to retrieve my puppy. The price for neuter, hernia fix, microchip, e-collar, and pain medicine to take home was significantly cheaper than other vets I've looked at. My puppy was delivered to the waiting room happy, ready to go, and a bit sleepy due to the long day he's had.

I've taken many animals here , and each time has been a great experience!

People arrive since 5am to get a good spot. Clinic opens at 8am and start giving numbers at 9am. I don't know if in all cases they ask you to comback afer 1pm for the doctor to see your dog. So expect to lose modt of your day.I don't get why they make appointments. Having people wait more than 3 hours just to get a number is insane. We have the technology, use it! Stop making our pets and their owners life miserable. 😤 . Also some cases they need to be diverted to other veterinarians, so call before you end up wasting your time.

Never again will I waste my time here. I've been coming here for over a decade but the last 4 years it's gone so far downhill and gotten more costly than everywhere. You'll waste your entire day waiting just to over pay. Go elsewhere
