I worked with Gildas Club Madison to plan an fundraiser for my college tennis team to honor my mother who passed. They did an amazing amazing job helping me, making the donation site, and overall just being so supportive. This was the first event I have ever planned and they helped me the whole way!!❤️

There are many helpful people working and volunteering here as well as lots of activities, speakers, and groups for various individuals. The group I was in became quite close knit and were concerned about each person’s situation. We always ended on a positive note, usually with a joke or an uplifting incident. I highly recommend Gilda’s to my friends and any one who needs a safe place to share.

If I could rate Gildas club higher I would. Its been a great experience for my son and myself for over a year. The kids program is wonderful! The support they need is perfect. The adult support program is amazing as well. Very helpful. Everyone is so nice at Gildas, it makes it so much nicer going. No judging, helpful tips. Amazing support that everyone needs.

This place has always been a space to come. While going thru my cancer journey this was a place to come for support, activities, being around people similar to myself. Supportive family members were able to attend. I attend workshops and events even now I'm in remission. What a gem.

I was diagnosed w/ late-stage 3 colon cancer 4-years ago almost to the day, given 60 days to live. I was ushered into emergency surgery on July 24, 2015, endured a marathon event that required 9 1/2 hours to extract a colonic (cancerous) mass from my upper colon (right side) + an additional 36" of diseased colon beneath. At the same time, surgeons removed 29 lymph nodes (so-called 'canaries-in-coal-mine' because they give status of system since they filter all blood flowing thru); 27/29 lymph nodes were also cancerous. Thus, had two more nodes been cancerous or aggressive cancer would have spread into any minor/major organs, they would have closed me up, pronounced me 'Stage 4-Inoperable' and I would be DEAD now. I spent 5 days @ UW-Hospital recovering, went home to our 200-acre farm outside Lodi, WI to recuperate, and-three weeks later-began 6 months of MAX strength CHEMO therapy, w/ a variety of life-changing, stress-inducing, dramatic side effects. It is during this time of maximum damage that I was introduced to Gilda's club in Middleton, WI as an alternative to trying to cope alone. My introduction to this beautiful facility and staff/facilitators was warm, accepting, compassionate and heartfelt. I IMMEDIATELY felt at home and realized I had found the perfect home to ally my fears, anxiety, stress & misgivings about my future and the progress of my recovery. It has been more than 3 years now since that first day and I am involved w/ Gilda's in the form of classes (RGI & potentially. Tai Chi), exercise (they have a well-equipped exercise room w/ state-of-art equipment) and special events: lectures by international experts, musical performances and numerous good food events. For many of us, Gilda's is a CRUCIAL LINK to an outside world that truly DOES NOT UNDERSTAND what we endure on a daily basis and how the staff helps us resolve those issues satisfactorily. If there were local/national AWARDS for cancer citizen's service and humanitarian aid, Gilda's would WIN, hands down. Thank U so much . . .Lon Schwartz

This group is a joke. Reached out to them twice since a close family member was diagnosed. Apparently they only cater to the rich and retired population because things are scheduled during work hours. Their website says you can make an appointment outside of those hours but apparently that's not an option or only available to certain people. Wouldn't recommend this scam of an organization to anyone.
