The Garden House in Duluth is a great community! The staff here is attentive, kind, and always ready to make residents feel comfortable and supported. Management is exceptional and truly committed to fostering a warm, welcoming environment. The building is lovely, with well-kept grounds that add a peaceful touch to the surroundings. The meals are delicious and thoughtfully prepared. There’s also a fantastic range of activities that keep residents active and engaged every day. My husband and I checked out several assisted living places for my sister in law and Garden House seemed like a cheery, clean and welcoming home. My sister has her own large bedroom/half bath , they have private showers on each floor and also a whirlpool walk in tub. The dining room is clean and inviting and they have a living room area to watch television, play games or meet with family that visit. The owner is a caring, genuine hard working man that is very much involved with what goes on at Garden House. All of the staff that I have met or dealt with in the last 2-1/2 years including, the owners assistant Krista, the nurse, the care givers, the housekeepers, the maintenance mn, have been very kind and helpful. They do a wonderful job of dealing with many different personalities and needs that arise from those who have disabilities, as that is not always easy. My husband, his sisters and I are very thankful we found a home that meets the needs of our sister with understanding & kindness. She is doing well here!!!

It saddens me to have to give this review. But, I want perspective residents and or family to know about this facility and all of its concerning issues.
I am a Legal Gaurdian to a current resident at Garden House Estates. I have a Nursing degree, Human Services degree and a BAS in Behavioral Health with a Masters of Criminology in progress.
My family member has been there for over 1 year. At first things went pretty well. Then new ownership. Residents and family were told that there will be some changes but only to improve their surroundings. There was a new Owner and Director. I have yet to meet the Owner, but the new Director was wonderful. After 3 months we found out their was another new Director. Now Regional Director who we never see. The Nurses began to disappear being assigned away from the facility leaving PCAs to over see the entire facility.
We had issues with staff having screaming matches in front of residents. The facility is dirty and smells. Dirty linens are on the floor in the hallway and in the common areas. Meal portions are small and not appealing on the weekends especially.
Reports of a Resident propositioning other residents for sexual favors is currently an issue. Sexual favors has been observed. As a Legal Gaurdian my job is to report these issues. I did file two reports with the state and ask staff to have the Nurse on call call me. No call was ever made to me. I dropped off my resident to the facility and went to talk to a staff that was sitting in the office. I was masking primarily due to the foul oder that I was smelling. I attempted to talk with staff but was constantly interrupted. Out of breath from the mask, I asked her to stop, and listen for a minute, that I was out of breath. She accused me of being hostile when I was simply out of breath and told me to leave the office if I was going to be hostile. I then requested that she call the Nurse on call so that I could talk to her.
Like I said earlier. This saddens me to have to write this review, but necessary. I am hoping that for the sake of the residents that things will improve. I can only hope.

The worst place in the world 🌍. Unprofessional, childish, rude, and dirty. The management is a joke, both of them. Food sucks. Dirty building. Maintenance guy never around. Very very bad place. Please don't allow anyone live here, they're all liars.

I had to move into Garden House Estates last April when September House closed. I was made very welcome by the staff and residents. I have enjoyed living here for the last six months. The staff takes very good care of us, and the food is really good. They do have activities, but are very concious of the COVID-19 pandemic and make sure everything is well sanitized. Quiet neighborhood, river view, near public transportation. A very nice place to live.

I have been taking care of a resident at the Garden House. The care and the food is amazing. Dale and Christa go way beyond what they need to do. The resident that I am looking after is happy and content. I would highly recommend this facility after physically seeing not only the care of the residents, but also the character of Dale and Christa.

I went to visit a friend of mine at this location and the way the staff was treating their residents was disheartening. They were rude and unkind to one lady inparticular at meal time. I also witnessed a lady named Kristi, presumed to be management and awfully temperamental toward a resident. Our loved ones deserve to be treated with kindness and respect. I wouldn't place my loved one in their hands.
