One of the most gorgeous venues in all of LA. It's a great place to host an event. I've been coming here for the last two years for the Taste of the Eastside event that is hosted here. Great exhibition areas and great fountain centerpiece that unifies the garden center. I wish I was invited to events here more often!

Friends of the Los Angeles River is wonderful but they are NOT the River Center and Gardens so they can't help you set up a wedding. However they can help our community create a swimmable, fishable, hikeable, boatable, bikeable Los Angeles River!

The fact that the person who founded this pathetic excuse for a non-profit orginization was high off his ass when, in 1982, (two years after he moved to and lived in Los Angeles at the age of 34 for the first time ever) he just decided to go ahead and break the law by cutting through a no-trespassing chain-link fence and essentially using his own "logic" that he speaks for the river the same way that the Lorax speak for the trees to "ask" the river if he can "free" the river from its "oppressive and dismal" concrete channalized state--while not having ANY idea why it was necessary in the first place to modify the river into the way it was (and still is, yet not for long, unfortunately)--and restoring it to its natural state (ya know, the same state that the river was in when it ruined the lives and well-being of all the people who lived within the area of the river, plus destroying/damaging the property and functionality of businesses and utilities that were located also within the area of the river.) Is more than enough to convince any decent, rational, logical, and reasonable human being such as myself that this organization is a well-disguised eco fascist Gestapo-esqe threat to industrial/modern engineering and architectural marvels that serve a purpose of vital importance, even if it does have some degree of negative environmental effects.

This river is a joke. 99% of the time there is no water. Homeless people stay in the basin. It is a filthy area!
