Found a pigeon in my backyard that was hurt. Fellow Mortals was the only place that was able to assist near my area in Kenosha. I had to take the drive to Lake Geneva but am greatful they were able to help.

Walking late in the evening with the dogs, we found a hawk baby with a damaged wing, and since we were very worried about him, we decided to help him and, on the advice of our veterinarian, we turned to the Fellow Mortals Wildlife Hospital. We left this wonderful baby in the care of two lovely women who helped us with this. We really hope that he will return to wildlife safe and sound. Thank you for your concern for wild animals!!!

Beyond my expectations! Absolutely 200% satisfied. They were so helpful. Found a very young squirrel in the parking lot. That would not stay out of the parking lot I'm tried to get to anybody it could. They gave me advice on what to do to make sure he was an orphan and not separate it from its family. They even suggested I take a picture for them to look at to help me decide what to do before I brought him in. Excuse me I mean her in. I know this now because They looked at her right away when I brought her in and even took a picture for me. Gave me results of her exam and a way to follow up later. Such a tiny life saved and a great group of people to help. Please donate if at all possible. It is sooooo worth it.

Great organzation doing amazing work! We had some swallows that had fallen from the nest a little too early and into an area where our doggie guests play so it was unsafe for them to remain. We called, left a message, and Fellow Mortals Volunteers got back to us with instructions and set up a time to bring them in. Thank you so much for everything you do!

I recently came across a poor little bird that had seemingly fallen from its nest in an extremely tall tree that I could not climb safely. Now I know you are supposed to leave it for its mother to return or place it back in its nest, but outside circumstances prevented these two important steps from being available. So, I remembered Fellow Mortals and gave a call. They were pretty quick to return my call and asked important questions as to direct me if I was unaware of what to do! Within that following hour I was able to have an appointment to bring the animal to their hands so it can be properly taken care of and released when grown. I am very excited to hear any additional information in the future about its health and release!

I called after 7pm last night about a baby raccoon that I figure must have been hit by a car. Sadly the baby raccoon passed sometime in the night, but that's not why I'm leaving a one star review. The automated voice said they'd call me back in the morning, well it's already 3:40 and I still haven't heard back from them! You claim you care about animals, but then you don't call back the people who find animals past your working hours that have been injured! What a joke! BTW, the Rock county sheriff's call center gave me the number since none of the other wildlife rehab hospitals had working numbers and this poor baby needed immediate help. Maybe someone should provide emergency vet service for these creatures and make it easier to find someone that does! My point was that I called, left a message, (and the outgoing message said they return all calls in the morning) and did everything they said. Had they called before I left this review, I would not have been as angry as I am now! If you don't plan on helping all creatures, maybe change your name and let police call centers know that you only help prey. And raccoons are scavengers not predators. Maybe do your research! And own up to your lack of good phone etiquette. If you say you're gonna return all calls first thing in the morning, do it! Don't leave people waiting and wondering why this one helpless tiny baby's life was ANY less important than the rest you save! I pray you never have to wait for someone to call you back when someone or somethings life hangs in the balance and that life is lost during that waiting game.

I live in west Madison (about an 1 and a half away). I found a baby sparrow that couldn’t be returned to its nest, so I called. I was told if I don’t come the same day I called, they will not take the bird. Unfortunately, I couldn’t bring it the same day since I work and had a critical vet appointment to attend in the evening. So I asked if I could bring it in the morning the following day—I was told absolutely not. I currently volunteer at a rehab (we do not rehab birds), and I couldn’t understand how they expected me to drop everything and drive 1.5 hours there and back when I had prior commitments I couldn’t change with a moment’s notice.
