I was and am still in huge need of help with homelessness while trasitioning from being my moms sole caregiver for 2 years while she was on hospice. My mom recently passed away and i was given 14 days to vacate her belingings and myself out of her apartment. I had hope when i spoke with this place and was told there was room for my daughter and myself but then the next day I was told they had to refer me to the mission. My daughters special needs and feels so unsafe all the time so this is not an option for us. I was given no reason as to why they wouldnt help me. Guess only certain people matter to them. im not sure .

Family promise has helped my family when we needed it the most. I've overcome many challenges that were barriers in my way. Lisa and Kristy are very supportive and understand that you are between a rock and a hard place and are here to help you succeed! I've secured housing, a drivers licence, been able to save money instead of wasting it and much more. I honestly can't imagine we're me and my family would be without family promise. I'm am grateful for this and thank both Lisa and Kristy and all the staff here at family promise.

Family Promise of the Lakeshore was a blessing to my family. After losing the home we'd rented since 2015, we stayed at Family Promise from August until December of 2022. This program was sometimes challenging, and it took work to move from homelessness to being in a home again with my children. We moved into our apartment a week and a half before Christmas, thanks in large part to Lisa, our case manager at Family Promise. It is possible my kids and I would still be homeless and couch surfing without the help of Family Promise. I will be forever grateful for their service.

They've brought nothing but blight into a long standing proud community. I literally walk from my house to your place and pick up your trash on a regular basis. And there's always plenty of capable people just standing around smoking, and then throwing the butts on the ground. We want the church back. That place always looked fantastic when they owned it. Stay out of neighborhoods, you ruin them.

This place is terrible they say when you can and can not leave they mentally abuse you and your children by keeping you trapped inside then they destroy your family they tell you your not allowed to talk about the rules there because it will make them lose their sponsors and people who donate to them. Well maybe you shouldn't be so corrupt you constantly threaten to kick people with kids out especially ones with autism you tell people when and when they are allowed to work and I almost got fired from my job because of that. Well I can talk about y'all now because you already kicked us out I lost my kids because of this place I wouldn't donate a penny maybe a kick in the face. It's not a family promise it's a family destroyer prison. I hope LISA loses her job no wonder she isn't close with her own kids because she treats other people's kids like prisoners. Kept us trapt all summer couldn't go swimming or to Michigan adventures couldn't do anything. Lisa mentally abused my children myself and my wife and is getting away with it. Just because your family is broken Lisa doesn't mean you destroy others you are heartless and I hope someone sees this and you lose your job glad your not close with your daughter you never deserved her anyway you heartless old hag stop destroying other families and go die in a ditch

This place is great but they'll accuse u of doing or saying things and kick u out because they don't feel like it's safe for u to be there. The lady here name Kristy she kicked me and my wife out for no reason at all i never threatened anyone's kids, i got one on the way and i was never suicidal and me and my wife tried telling her we weren't doing anything wrong none of that's true but she chose to believe what was said and kicked us out after being there 2 weeks being there. I wouldn't trust this place they'll find a way to accuse u of things and kick u out. This place has a lot of drama. The lady here Kristy isn't professional at all.

This place should be ashamed of the way they treat families that come to them for help when times are desperate, I had family members staying there that just moved here, with promises of help, they received nothing but negative interactions!
Maybe it is the staff not the organization, however your staff represents the organization!
What a disgrace to the lakeshore community!!
FYI- they were kicked out cause their 4 year toddler was too loud😮🤦
Thought this was a family organization?!?!?
Luckily my family has a place to go, the other families that need help and don't receive it and are evicted for unbelievable reasons dont!
Good job Family Promise Staff!!!

A very welcoming and progressive environment, it helped my family when we needed it the most, ignore the hateful comments, those folks were stubborn and unwilling to change, but if you are and have the drive to be better, then this is the place for you.
