Honestly, I would probably give them 0 stars if that was an option.
We were “kicked out” of their program for another family harassing us. The excuse they gave us, even though they had evidence on security cameras of this family kicking in our door and putting hands on me, was that our family is easier to house because it’s only 3 of us. So my 1 year old and myself are now sleeping outside their program.
Honestly, Kayla and Cassandra are the least helpful “case managers.”

This is an amazing program! I am so blessed to be a tiny part of it. I love the unique option to volunteer over night. This gives busy people like me a chance to get involved. There are so may ways to contribute to family promise. There is no excuse not to help out in some way be it physically or financially or both. My favorite part is being inspired by families (particularly single mothers) willing to do whatever it takes to improve their lives. Family promises works too! I've seen lots of families achieve their goal to move into their own place. With all the churches in the Grand Rapids area no one should have to live on the streets. It is fun and rewarding to be a part of the family promises community.

Everyone I mean everyone the staff, the churches and volunteers work tirelessly to help you and your family.
The love and support for their families is out of this world.
They have spent many sleepless nights to do everything needed to get the word out about homelessness and to achieve reasonable solutions now and in the future. They are willing to advocate until homelessness is not a critical issue and Everyone has a place to call home.
I've supported family promise for over 12 yrs now- won't you start today and be a part of the difference we can make for one another. Thank you - that was 3 years ago, Everyone is working harder to place families into housing-. A mom with 2 kids has to work 2.5 full-time entry level jobs to afford housing.
Family Promise will not stop looking or fighting for affordable housing.

Donate all your household items and furniture to this organization. They help get families back into a home, and they are good at it. If you can't drive a couch over to them no worries they will come and pick it up from your house. Very good organization that everyone in Grand Rapids should support.

I was very unfortunate to ever get involved with family promise. I received one of their "restored" manufactured home through their partners in housing program. The place was disgusting!! It was full of black mold, water damage and rot, etc. The program won't fix anything, let alone do it right. Please don't donate to them. They hide behind the non profit shield,. They are worse than slum lord's.

Very unprofessional workers. Seth made appt to view our home then never showed up. Called a week later to ask to see the home.He completly had forgotten he made appt. I allowed him to make another .he was late showing up. THEN he said hed call me and let me know after he ran the numbers if he could buy the place. He never called . a week and a half later i had to call his supervisor to ask what was the reason they couldnt buy. Its Not that they didnt buy it was the fact of their unprofessionalism to keep appts. And return calls that they get a low review. Very lacking for dealing with the public.
