I absolutely love this Pantry. Even if they don't always have a great selection. People are taking their time to put together groceries for people in need. That in itself deserves appreciation. And I am grateful for the people and the service they provide. ❤️

I am new to needing assistance. I'm a nurse, had a back injury 2.5 months ago and still on medical leave from work so our income has been cut in half. We have 4 kids at home and waiting on state assistance. I literally had nothing to make for dinner on a Tuesday night and looked up food pantries near me. I see the closest one open was Eleanor's Pantry. My daughter's and I drove over. I explained that I am new to this to the lady at the desk. She asked if I lived in Paw Paw or Lawton. I said Lawrence. In front of other people, she literally scoffed and snarkly replied "Well you can't come here." Explained they only serve Paw Paw and Lawton and we had our own food pantry in Lawrence...which didn't service till next day, and I explained I had a Dr. appointment at time of distribution and would miss it. She retrieved a paper with their location and time and handed it to me. I'm embarrassed enough to be in this situation, but to be scoffed and told "You can't come here."in front of my daughter and others was rude and unnecessary and was lemon juice to the wound.

When I was in need they were always helpful and understanding. Everyone is pleasant and there was always a nice selection of food to choose from.
When I have an abundance I donate back to them. I haven't needed the extra help in a while but if I do I know I can count on Eleanor's to be there for me.

Best pantry ever! Very friendly, helpful people. All areas were clean and well organized. I liked the idea of having a point system within the food/non-food groups so that each group is addressed and fulfilled for everyone fairly.

Only for the paw paw area. There are Pantry's in alot of towns that only service that town. Find one in your area, call around and you won't find yourself "turned away". Eleanor's staff is Helpful, friendly and there when you need help. They are amazing people. Thank you for all you do for our town and the people you help.
