This church promotes the "little gods" heresy, teaching that believers, through faith in Christ, gain godlike power and authority. Their theology teaches that through the cross of Jesus, believers are empowered to speak things into existence, claim dominion over the earth, and essentially share in God's authority.
Key Beliefs: Believers as "Little Gods":
The church teaches that Christians are like little gods with divine authority. They claim that by speaking God's Word, believers can command outcomes, bind evil forces, and control their circumstances (Declaration of Gods Divine Protection 2024). However, Isaiah 42:8 (ESV) states, “I am the Lord; that is my name; my glory I give to no other.” This shows that humans cannot claim God’s power or status.
Multiplication Through the Cross: The church asserts that the cross of Jesus multiplies believers' power, allowing them to live a victorious, unstoppable life. (Declaration of Gods Divine Protection, 2024)
They believe that through the cross, every believer can achieve greatness and dominion. (https://www.destiny.online/about, 2024) Yet, Colossians 1:18 (ESV) emphasizes that the purpose of the cross is to glorify Christ, stating, “And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent.”
Speaking with God’s Power:
The church teaches that a believer's words have the same creative power as God’s (Declaration of Gods Divine Protection, 2024). This means they can declare things into being, similar to God's creative acts. However, only God has creative authority. Psalm 33:9 (ESV) states, “For he spoke, and it came to be; he commanded, and it stood firm.”
Dominion Over Earth:
The church believes that believers have authority over the earth and all spiritual forces, even natural disasters (Declaration of Gods Divine Protection, 2024). They teach that believers can control their environment through their declarations. While God gives authority to believers, it’s always under His will. James 4:15 (ESV) says, “Instead you ought to say, ‘If the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that.’”
Key Issues: Exalting Humans Above God:
This theology elevates humans to an equal status with God. By claiming divine authority, believers risk robbing God of glory. Isaiah 42:8 (ESV) clearly states God’s intent to give His glory to no other.
Misusing Scripture: Many verses used to support these teachings are taken out of context. They often misinterpret scripture to focus on human power rather than God’s sovereignty. The Bible emphasizes God's power and plans, and humans are to align with Him, not the other way around.
False Promises of Invincibility:
The church teaches that believers cannot fail or be harmed. They claim that faith protects against all adversity (Declaration of Gods Divine Protection, 2024). This ignores that the Christian life often involves suffering and sacrifice. Romans 8:35-39 (ESV) reminds us that tribulations are part of the faith journey.

Declaration of God’s Divine Protection:
The church uses declarations based on scripture to support their beliefs in divine protection and authority. They assert:
“I declare this day that no weapon formed against me can prosper” (Isaiah 54:17, ESV).
The declaration emphasizes God's protection over believers. They proclaim, “Because I am the righteousness of God, favor surrounds me as a shield” (Psalm 5:12, ESV). This shows their belief that God's favor offers divine protection.
They continue to reinforce the idea that believers are shielded by God’s Word:
“Every attack that the devil had planned against me is diverted now in the name of Jesus” and “I cannot be defeated or destroyed.”
This highlights the church's belief in the believer's authority. They cite, “If God be for me, who can be against me?” (Romans 8:31, ESV). This assertion seeks to instill confidence in God's protection.
The church’s teachings one's divine power and authority are not biblical and take glory away from God. God alone is sovereign, and we must humbly rely on Him—not on our “godness"

I walked into this church with hopes that I would find the love of Jesus and I did and so much more! He gave me family. He gave me community. He gave me Hope! He showed me love through His people. He gave me the right people to help my dreams come true. So many smiling faces and open arms to just love you where you are at on this Journey.

My husband and I have been attending Destiny Church for a little over a year now and it is difficult to put into words (but I will try) all that we have seen and experienced since becoming a part of this family. I say family because of the love and care so effortlessly given from the pastors, staff, dream team, and all members I have come into contact with. We are reminded constantly that we matter, that God has a purpose for us, that God has more for us and has equipped us with gifts to use for His kingdom. My children absolutely love being at church and are upset when they can’t go. Love Destiny in Indio. My husband and I love the people there, we were only bothered by one thing. There was a young lady constantly walking to the front taking pictures while the pastor was talking. It was very distracting and at times stood in front of other people taking the pictures.
