Visited friends at Del Mesa Carmel, and it was our first time there. Impressed with their unit with a nice valley view. Grounds were kept up well, convenient to downtown Carmel or Monterey in 10-15 minutes.

Del Mesa Carmel is an exquisite gathering of condos built in 1968. Most have been updated and refreshed over the years and are a comfortable community for retirees. Locally situated just minutes from Carmel by the Sea proper, Monterey, Pebble Beach, and Pacific Grove. Easy access to local stores, the Barnyard, and groceries. A serious consideration, however, is the inordinately high HOA fees. In some cases, it is near to $2,000. The community it gated with security and landscaped well, but that's a high fee for an HOA.

PRIVATE [guard at gate] but once you're in, folks are friendly & helpful. This is a GOOD thing because you need great directions to find that specific unit you want.
