This is a church that you feel welcome when you enter and Pastor Blake and his wife Jenna are kind and friendly. The church has a great youth ministry and cares a lot about it's youth. Kids love it and this country needs more youth on fire for the Lord.

My wife and I visited this church one time, August 2018. Crossroads Community Church is said to be one church in many locations. Their mission statement, mentioned during the service, is "Transforming rural communities for the cause of Christ!" Besides Monroe the other campuses are Freeport, Galena, Morrison, Polo, Sycamore, and Winnebago. There is a Saturday night service as well as a Sunday morning one. One preacher preached from a remote location (Freeport?) and the other campuses watched it through Internet and big TV's, and there was a local pastor in Monroe as well who did not preach that Sunday but handled preliminaries, announcements, and the like, and talked to everybody, including us, after the service. I assume he would do hospital visitation and do other duties other than Sunday preaching most of the time. I do not know if more than one preacher preaches remotely, or only the one. There were roughly 50 or so people attending the Sunday we attended of various age groups. The worship style was contemporary with a praise band present in Monroe and very casual dress. I did not see the word pentecostal on the web page, and no one spoke in tongues, but the service had a pentecostal feel about it, being highly emotive. The preaching was in that same style. In terms of content the preacher spoke of the endtimes from Daniel 9, a very difficult passage to interpret much less preach, and he took a strictly dispensational interpretation of Daniel's 70 weeks, though he mentioned that if you disagreed with that particular interpretation "we can still be friends." The message eventually wandered around various topics not strictly tied to the passage preached on.

It is hard to give a fair evaluation of a church with only one visit, and given that matters of taste differ among Christians who might consider this church. The people were friendly enough, though not obsessively so. The pastor was very nice. There was a young person being dedicated to a 6 month mission trip, and the enthusiastic worship combined with this indicates some vibrancy among the worshippers. The message was consistent with Christian orthodoxy, even if I take a different view of Daniel 9 than the preacher. That said, my wife and I are not inclined to join this church because we are not fans of praise bands (though thankfully the volume was reasonable) and do like traditional hymns, none of which were sung (though the preacher mentioned the lyrics of one). Nor are we fans of highly emotive worship/preaching styles, being more intellectual than emotional in personal preference. But for those who like this kind of style, Crossroads is certainly worthy of consideration. I like their mission statement and the leadership seems to have a good chance of carrying it out effectively.
