When researching choruses in the DC area seven years ago, Congressional Chorus stood out to me. We perform a wide range of American music from a classical sound to jazz and pop music. I enjoy how we share happiness, hope and inclusion.

A fun and talented chorus that helps share amazing music in the DC area. I especially like that they are constantly commissioning new works from composers across the nation. They are a pleasure to watch and a joy to be part of.

I moved to the city a few months ago and this choir is one of my favorite things about DC so far. If you’re considering auditioning; do it. The music is beautiful, my fellow singers are talented, and the director and admin team are great. There are so many opportunities to sing and perform in the community, and I’m already growing as a musician in this environment. If you’re looking to sing in the city; audition for this group. It is the best part of my week, every week.

The Congressional Chorus is my musical home. I'm so proud of the wide range of choral work we present to our community every year, including our highly anticipated Spring Cabaret! Seven years ago, when I was looking for a fun, meaningful place to make music, I discovered this versatile chorus, made many new friends, and am happy to say I have never looked back!

I've been a member of the Congressional Chorus for 3.5 years and could not have been happier to find this organization! Allan Laiño (Artistic Director) and Michelle Heslin (Executive Director) have done an incredible job leading this group in partnership with a very committed and dedicated Board of Directors. Don't get me wrong, the music and camaraderie in this group is amazing, but it's the mission of the Chorus is what keeps me coming back. I love that our musical programs are rooted in social justice, giving back to the community and shining a light on music & creators that are not given the opportunity in other choruses. If you're looking for a fun, rewarding and professional performing experience that still allows you to keep 'day job,' look no further!

I have been a member for 10 years. This is a great group that balances choral precision and having fun. We don't just perform master works, but also commission the work of new artists and collaborate with other arts organizations in DC. Highly recommend coming to a show or even better auditioning!
