TL;DR: Destructive, Avoid.

Typically PG&E has hired contractors that do good powerline work on my property. Not this time.
- The work order clearly said "Call homeowner before tree work - customer wants to be present. But CTS didn't call. Instead, I just happened to find a worker up in my tree one morning.
- The worker was wearing *boot spikes*, trying to get a grip with ankles at the top of my Liquidambar, shredding the bark. Spikes are not permitted on live trees (only on telephone poles, dead trees, and emergency rescues).
- The heading/topping cuts were made at arbitrary locations, leaving stubs.
- Branches were removed on the opposite side of the tree from the power line (presumably to ease access).
I ordered the workers off the property, and called their supervisor.
The supervisors arrived and agreed that the work was unnecessarily substandard. (They offered to "fix" the problem, by which they meant further removal. I said no.)

The practices used are not part of the ISA standard, and no one on the property (including supervisors) had an ISA license. These guys are for demolition / removal, not pruning.

I called PG&E after realizing that Core Tree Services, the company on the work order, had apparently subcontracted to Community Tree Services. Probably not what PG&E had intended.

Unaccountable and destructive.
Community tree service came onto my property to clean up potentially hazardous trees for PGE. I gave them full access to my property to make there job easier and safer while they cut on trees that had potential for power line damage, I only asked one thing and that was to leave the chips and wood that they removed from my trees.

They used my property to access my neighbors property and cut one of there oak trees down to the ground. That created an issue not only with my neighbor I as well them. The police were called by someone and I got word from my daughter that was home alone that something was happening there were multiple police cars at our house. When I finally got to my House after leaving work the tree crew and police were leaving. I never got a call from anyone about the incident?

They did not leave any of the wood behind they took everything except what they left dead hanging in the trees that was cut and left up hanging.

They must have fallen a limb or cut my brand new fence breaking the fence leaving the barbed wire just hanging with no repair.

I called there office in Watsonville as well as PGE I never received any response from either. It is a shame that you cannot let them on your property unattended without having this kind of thing happen.

Driver blocked a keep clear and refused to move his truck while it was running, and he had about 8-10 feet before the car in front of him. I asked him to pull up, and he was super rude and refused. I wouldn't expect these people to have good service after that interaction and the disregard for rules of the road and other drivers.

I hired them to take down a massive tree on my property. Everyone was nice, respectful and they were extremely careful with the property to not damage anything. Service was 10/10.

These people do not finish the work they started, they do not follow through with what they say and they have created a fire hazard in my driveway.
It’s been almost two months and eight phone calls and I still have pile of dead and dry branches blocking my driveway from when they came uninvited and trimmed trees for PG+E.

I'm shocked how this company treated me when I asked them to come out for a bid. Our home burned down and we are restoring the property and starting our rebuild process. The bidding person who came out basically tried to get one over in me. He quoted me 5/6 guys for 8000+ a day for just trimming and dropping trees! Claimed three climbers and three bucket trucks cost that much. I went online and researched the company and what they pay thier staff. The quoter said we have to pay union workers and workers comp. I told him I'm a business owner and asked him where the other 5-6 thousand dollars is going, and he stared at me with a blank face knowing he just got caught in a hustle. At no time should any business treat or talk to customers like this trying and take advantage of them. Everybody else out here quoted me 2000-2500 a day max. Even thier largest nearest competition. I understand people can choose who they want to work with/for. I also understand it's bad business and immoral to try and rip people off. Would avoid calling these people. Clearly they will waste your time and throw out rediculous numbers expecting the customer to be stupid and uneducated. Please search online pay for union workers who are arborists and workers comp costs etc prior to having any discussions with these people. If I knew this before hand I wouldn't have taken the time out of my day to be off work and onsite to meet this clown who tried to rip me off....he threw a 100 tree bid in the trash by giving a lunatic price up front. Bro you think your two or three week job 20x8000= 160,000 dollars was normal to say to a home owner?

This company performed work for PGE on our property. They cut down 2 trees & in the process damaged several other trees including oak trees. We've had other PGE subs work on our property & they carefully removed offending trees without damaging other trees. I spent the weekend removing oak tree branches & limbs damage caused by this company. If you want trees trimmed in a careful manner, I don't recommend this company. If you don't care what kind of damage they do to your surrounding tree canopy, then you're ok using this co.
