It depends on when you go as to what you’ll get. There has been times where I received a cart full of stuff and others barely enough to last a week let alone a month. There are times when the food is in great condition and others the food is covered in mold or expired. Some days I have to wait an hour and others it’s 5 to 10 minutes. Some of the staff members are pleasant and others need to work on their people skills. Though It is a little ridiculous when you tell them you are allergic to something and they give it to you anyways…I can’t eat it but someone else in line could. That being said this is one of the better food banks in south bend and I am greatful for the food I do receive from them because it has seen me through some rough times which is why I give them 4 stars.

Oscar the director has been misleading the local clinics with mis counting the inventory and after the wrong amount is delivered he blames and mistreats his staff in front of the public. Very disappointing behavior for management. Not only does this severely affect the public and those in need but his employees do not deserve to have blame put on them when Oscar is in charge of their deliveries. Please do better. He also gets rude on the phone, he was over an hour late with dropping off food boxes yesterday 02/26/2025 causing our clients to have to find transportation to come back for pick up which caused nothing but chaos. Oscar needs to be replaced. His heart is not in it and he seems to have zero regard to those in need or the importance of staying on schedule.

I've been holding my tongue for awhile about this place...why are walk ups treated like second class? Everytime I come here as a walk up I feel like I'm given significantly less and also not given items that every car that pulls up gets it literally happens ev time. They load walk ups down with the heaviest most unuseful stuff they can find. Instead of thinking that walkups are generally single ppl with limited resources therefore things like whole 🍍 are basically useless to while handing the stuff that would be more logical for a walk up person to the ppl who drive up claim hoe many ever to get 2 carts full of stuff gleefully loaded into there trunks for them. It sucks that I have to go here because this happens to me ev. Time.

Hit and miss - not ungrateful -pointing out rotten potatoes will kill you. If they are leaking and smell that is a toxic gas - humanity tries… nice your doing dog food now maybe you’ll start doing cat food too-

The older guy that does shipping and receiving was very unpleasant for a delivery. I didn’t notice the same energy with the men. With me he was very rude and hostile. Even tried to lie on me and say I hit a pole,that was already hit and taped off,very visible smh😂 it’s ridiculous. I had to tell him to relax & calm down! He was to worked up at 7:20 a.m. and it’s too early for all that. The area is small so if you’re in a semi ,just be careful drivers it gets crowded. I backed in no problem 😌regardless of what he thinks of women drivers 💁🏾‍♀️it’s only one dock they unload from.

I suffered an accident 4 months ago that left me unemployed. I have been unsuccessful in hearing back for Food Stamps assistance that I applied for during the time of my accident. If it had not been for the kind hearts of the community of donors and the Food Bank of Northern Indiana, my family and I would not know where to find our next meal. I appreciate all the food that is given and I do not any of it go to waste. 🙏🏼😊❤️
