Known as the city of trees and PhDs, Claremont is the last city on the eastern edge of Los Angeles County.

A beautiful city with a higher than average cost of living.

Be sure to visit the Village area near Pomona College for light shopping and heavy dining. Friday nights include outdoor music and Sunday mornings a farmers market.

A Metrolink station is conveniently situated at the village.

Mundane. Also, gave me a parking ticket for parking in a free public lot. Their explanation: you backed up. The city has a weird rule that you cannot reverse the car. Let me ask how do you pull out of a spot then? The police station doesn’t make it easy to repeal the ticket either. The doors to it are locked and only one person at a time allowed inside. Took me months to scheduled the hearing, even showed them pictures of my car and how it’s parked, exactly how the other cars are parked. Officer could not answer back and did not give an explanation. But got a final letter that they will not refund my penalty. Stay away…go some place else.
