I mean ... If you have no Control over your life and your a drug addict and you want to be In jail with little freedom and want the same people to force God in your life than this place is for you . You MUST attend their church service 2 times a day. Or AA meeting and 1 church service and/or if your out of money and have no hope because you might rob or kill somebody .. Than this place might save you . Other than than that . I rather live on the street . I stayed here for 3 days and left . I can do bad all myself . YOU BEEN WARNED... I wish somebody told me before I went . They will also take pictures of you for their personal gain for their marketing purpose . They also take tides
and offering at the end of their church service . I left in 3 days and rather sleep in the STREET. Its next to bein in jail . If you ever been locked up ... You will be reminded what it feels like... How does anybody like it here ? CHECK OUT ADAMS PLACE IF YOU NEED SHELTER! Wayyyyy better if you want to feel like a human and not a DOG and value any sort of freedom. This place was waste of time to me . Check in at 3pm and wait in a waiting room to 5pm for dinner and shower time . IM NEVER EVER going back ...NEVER ..not unless I been told I'm dying or something ... Even still I wouldn't want to waste last days here . They have the public donating to them ... Why are they taking tides and offering from people who stay here

Everything is relative. So being here was definitely better than being out on the street. The condition is fair, staff cool, people vary from normal to mentally ill, some extreme cases. Food is better than none but not the best. Beds are comfortable, open dorms, shower curtains dirty. It's just a lack of responsibility. A lot of homeless men have lost their home training.
The “The Firm” Firm
While you’re able to shower eat and sleep, there’s ample deficiencies in their operations management such as no cost free laundry services without asking for help. It smells of wet zoo animals in the dorms. A person should never need to ask for help. It should be apparent in that they’re homeless. Laundry Services should be part of the sanitation protocol. Common sense dictates that much. It boosts morale in a human being when he has clean clothes and is able to earn a living. I shouldn’t have to engage in secular politics to get clothes washed.

ok so i spent a few days here. first i will say that it is a clean place and you get fed...but thats all the good i will say about it. i was not the correct color nor of the same mindset as the people who stay here or of those who work here. i was told we could not wear our hat inside...but yet others who were not white were allowed to wear thier hats without any problem. i attempted to get clothes many times...to no avail..always an excuse why no one could help me...the people who work the desk and have lived here for 3 years looked as if the needed to have a work out center as well. you could tell they lived well off this mission. i will never return and if i was you and i was not of a certain color i would not go here. i believe i may have to return and open a mission for caucassion people here.

I discovered Central Union Mission online, after my ex-students reported to me the issue of homelessness, among their peers in their public high school. If it were not for my beautiful students reporting this grave image that was etched in my conscience, I clearly would not be at this venerable organization.
The Mission has been a think tank for me - literally. The goals of the Mission is to restore the men, spiritually. So, that they can reconnect with family members and friends. And, to live successful lives.
The entire organization exemplifies courage, goodwill, trust, love and respect. I love it when I volunteer and someone says hello. A little kindness goes a long way. But, the secret is that kindness enables the men in the shelter to feel better about themselves, have more confidence, believe in themselves.
I have witnessed powerful transformations, due in large part to the certification programs offered at the Mission. These programs work! It's a successful formula. The men provides testimonies on a regular basis.
The Director provided invaluable information directly to my ex-students who were anxious to help their peers. The information will be with them for a lifetime. Think about these young people, our future leaders of America listening to a Director who has expertise on homelessness.
It was incredibly moving! I watched my ex-students faces. The powerful message was sinking in.
Finally, I am incredibly blessed to be working beside a Coordinator who works tireless. He shows compassion and commitment to everything he does, on behalf of the Mission.
His presentations regarding the history of the organization is so thoroughly inspiring. The volunteers walk away knowing something about this institution that they didn't know before they arrived. What a learning experience!
Thank you Central Union Mission for helping me to reach out more, share more, love more, support more. At the moment, I'm reaching for the stars, on behalf of the men in the shelter. To the men, YES, YOU CAN!

IF YOURE CAUCASIAN THIS IN NOT I REPEAT NOT A SAFE PLACE. This place should be shut down for their prejudicial predatory behavior.
I Reccomend Law Enforcement look into this...

They have breakfast for overnight guests everyday that you have stayed there the previous night. Lunch for anyone. And dinner for anyone also. To secure a bedspace for the night you must be at the Mission between the hours of 2:30-6 pm. They secure beds for the elderly and physically disabled first. But you must stay inside of the facility once you have a bed. And you can not leave until after breakfast. So once in you must stay in. But it is the cleanest Men's shelter in the area. The rules in place make it safe, secure and polite for all.
