I'm giving them 2 stars for their effort, for the donated food, fir the volunteer cooks, for those running the community closet and that they let me back in that community closet a few days later because I never actually got any personal care items from their personal care room when I went in there.

However, cleanliness is first and foremost and I have realized they just aren't clean. Very nasty, unsanitary warming center, which leads to further illness. There was a woman who stayed with us who apparently had a bowel movement in the bathroom and got it all over the toilet seat, floor and door handle. I told the staff and they cleaned it up but did not ban her. They said they were doing bathroom inspections after each use to see who keeps plugging up the toilet but it's all talk. They weren't. We can't have this. In the morning, when they serve cereal, they put out milk in a huge container like the kind that holds the condiments in restaurants. We had to spoon it out with a ladel.one of the children was playing in it. I called a shelter in Macomb county and found that they were taking women. I left immediately for that shelter. So much cleaner. If an OSHA inspector had seen that, they would have been shut down.

Superb individuals, that make up a decent team. These people care. Oftentimes, I will attend their free lunch program. It also doesn't hurt that it's about 100 yards from our back door.!

Awesome staff, very informative and willing to help with my questions. Great people skills are employed here. I witnessed a woman not having a great day while visiting and she was met with the utmost respect and patience. Defused with kindness and understanding, it was a 180 in the tone and trajectory of the intended ending. Thanks so much for the display of how things should go when met with hostility.

I was able to get some things that I needed in addition I was able to donate and a very friendly young man was extremely helpful and helping me get my stuff out of the car into the drop off.

Called there for assistance got none. Was told they help only people with an income. People from tge boarder get SSI and all the assistance needed. Then the panhandle on the street to get more money daily. This country is backwards. How can you clean others back yard and leave yours unkept. Ian temporarily displaced and can’t get any help. Yet I’m being given there information to call for help. This is Comical.

Extremely helpful and kind staff. Although I ended up discovering this place during unfortunate circumstances the staff members have been beyond helpful, kind and non judgemental, especially Mr. Vincent Lane. Thank you and the other staff for not making me feel like less of a person when most other people would have.

This place is amazing it helps you in so many ways, not just to mention the food amazing for lunch also at q u can get in line and go shopping for free for 20 mins yesss I said it FREE. U can't try on the shoes coasts or other things but take as much as u want you got 20 mins. Did I say postbox yet you can even have a personal post box there for free. Also Hamilton Dr office right inside. So much to do here guys, housing can I mention I just got the project base voucher and I get to move into my apartment for free for the rest of my life!!!! Only took 6 months they also helped me get SSD. Go and check it out it's amazing I promise you. As long as you keep your appointments and do what they say and keep in touch and renew your phone number if it changes your good to go. Go check it out ppl so ma y opportunities!!!!!

I had given up hope that my life would ever get any better. Somehow Misty and Mr. Griffin has made me have a little bit of hope after I gave up. They have a way of talking to you that makes you believe that everything will be okay. They do everything they can to keep you off the streets. I am so thankful to them. And Tina at the front desk if wonderful also. With everything I have going on right now I can't remember nothing. Like today for instance, not only did he make sure he took the time to wait on me himself when the front desk could've taken care of what I needed, I asked him the same question I did last week and he had no problem repeating the answer to me. When I apologized for it he came back with, don't worry about it that's what I'm here for. Then he said, if you have to call me every day to ask a question then you do that. Whatever makes you feel good. It was that simple statement and the way he said it that reassured me that everything is going to be okay. Misty is always on top of things. If I send her a email or call her and leave a message I never have to wait long for her to get back with me. Even when she is home sick she's always taking care of business.
