They were horrible to deal with 20 years ago and they probably still are.. don't get visitation through them if you're dealing with CPS or DHHS. And yes they really don't like to help Mainers with housing They will help AKA asylum seekers first hand just like the rest of the government.. They say they helped 51,000 Mainers. Probably with a food card, bus pass and with visitation through CPS or DHHS. They like to play with their statistics.. hate them. Yes you suck!

Doesn't help Americans but rams more foreigners in and gives them our taxpayer money that we need.

The very group who has brought the burden of “New Mainers” onto the tax payer. All the while they are free from taxation.
Jesus had said, Give unto Cesar what is Cesar’s. But, he didn’t say give Cesar more.

Why don't you help people from Maine with housing? Your neighbors, people that have been donating to the catholic church for hundreds of years in Maine. Why not put them first, instead of refugees and immigrants. Charity begins at home. You suck.

Although I was raised Roman Catholic, went to a Catholic school, and was properly confirmed within the religion, my pone call with the woman at the relief and hope fund just confirmed why I don't practice anymore.
I suppose I was helped once before this year with a $100 grocery gift card, so I'm unable to be helped again. I have been in an ongoing SSI case for 3 years for autism, c-PTSD, and physical limitations and times have been rough. But rules are rules. Understood.
This has nothing to do with the fact that they weren't able to help, rules are rules...even if it is three days before Thanksgiving. But, no. This was about the "I'm better than you" attitude and lack of compassion that really blew my mind. I wasn't given a name, phone number, or even a quick and semi-enthusiastic, "Good luck"...just incredibly fast recognition of my name (like I was trying to get one over on her asking for GROCERIES) & a dial tone. I do thank you for helping me reaffirm why I don't associate with Catholicism anymore. It's quite hypocritical to be sitting in an office that is supposed to be dedicated to helping people obtain resources in the name of God and then treat the people who reach out to you in a time of need in the manner that I was just treated. Maybe some training would be beneficial...although it's pretty close to impossible to train someone who has adapted to a closed mindset in life. Anyhow, I truly hope that everyone within the organization has a wonderful holiday, as I'm sure they will.

My sense of spirituality has never been stronger, and I speak to God every day...the way I was just treated was pretty sinful. Do your research and if you need someone to lend you an ear and help you make a plan in a time of struggle, do not call here!

Apathy isn't charity. When good people who can help choose not to do so, that is a form of evil that this organization is dramatically suffering from.
