I had to take my much loved dog Jonah to be euthanized here this past May. Everyone was so kind and empathetic. The vet was awesome. She was extremely kind to both me and Jonah. I was so torn, wondering if I was being too hasty, but she was very comforting, assuring me I was doing the right thing for him. I am still very grateful to the kind and caring staff. We recently adopted our cat Hunter (formerly Lume), and again, I was very impressed by the kindness of Erin and the other staff members. Wonderful place!

I will never be back or recommend anybody go to CHS for anything. I scheduled our male cat to be neutered back on 10/16 with a 12/4 appointment date because they’re so busy. Dropped our cat off this morning at the designated time only to be called before we even left the parking lot to come back and pick up our cat because he is a health risk due to congestion. My cat has shown no signs of being sick at all in the almost 2 months it’s been since I made the appointment and did not show any signs this morning. I explained to the lady that my cats nose is always red because he’s a white cat, and that he went crazy in the carrier when I placed him in there this morning before leaving the house, so he was likely a little worked up and possibly clawed himself in the process, but that didn’t matter. Said I would need a note from a vet saying he’s okay to be operated on…so who made the call he was sick? The receptionist? When I asked for a refund I was then charged $10 for cancelling my appointment without 24 hr notice. I did not cancel, I dropped my cat off and not even 2 minutes later was told to pick him up. The customer service here is absolute garbage. Do not take your animals to CHS! Picture included to show how not sick my animal looks.

I have adopted 3 dogs from Cascades and with the last one we fostered before we adopted him😀. Dr. Sarah was amazing at explaining everything that was needed for our Brucey Boy. Danielle and the rest of staff are so amazing and still ask how he is doing. I will always recommend Cascades to anyone looking.

Dropped of some towels and blankets that I would have just thrown away. Unfortunately, lots of dogs waiting for forever homes yet they were getting lots of love from the care staff. I'm not in a place for another pet but they did have the cutest little pup close at hand for anyone looking.

Definitely a necessity to have our town is lucky to have this place, a no kill shelter. A loving place for animals to be placed to find living forever homes, and thank God for the help of the foster homes for their wait to their forever homes. They have a spayed and neuter program for the feral cats for next to nothing. It's worth the few bucks to keep the cat population down. Please make donations to help these Angels keep going, and a great big hug and thank you from me.

You can't look at the dogs in person, only threw a tinted window you can't see through. I your lucky enough to be able to see them through the window you have to fill out an adoption application to interact with it.

I just left from a scheduled appointment. I felt racially profiled, and they were very standoffish and unwelcoming for a planned scheduled appointment. The lady who recalled scheduling my appointment, said at first."Was it for dogs?" I'm like no for kittens. She's like, oh yeah, two of them right?I said yeah two litters. She said that I had only told her about two kittens, but if i'm trying to do right by a litter of kittens, why would I lie about the number of kittens? I let it be known that I was unfamiliar with animals. I could not tell how old the smaller kittens were. I came and brought the kittens along with me for visual purposes, and they were just
Very adamant and nasty That they couldn't take the kittens at that time, which I understood I was trying to get them to help me figure out how old they were about, how much longer do I need to Hold on to these kittens where they're old. Enough to go to another residence. The mom cat jumps out of the car, nonviolent gets back into the car and one of the ladies is like we're done. We're done, like we did something inappropriate to them, and it was one other older kitten that they said they could look at to take in, and when the mom cat jumped out of the car that used as an excuse to dismiss. Myself with the older kitten that they said they could take they had no intentions on helping my situation. Whatsoever is very discouraging and disappointing, especially when you see animals on the streets being poisoned and discard it the way that they are, and you try to do right by them and the treatment that you get And this community is very unfortunate.

They often cancel the vaccine clinics. Went today, bringing two dogs out in the morning, but it was cancelled. They said it was posted on Facebook, but they didn't bother to update their main web page. What an inconvenience... again!! Now I have to scramble for an alternative.
