Absolutely disgraceful to cut down a beautiful, historic tree for no reason other than it was “too big” (and rumored to build a hotel). You deserve all of the blowback from this poor decision that is irreversible.

To unilaterally impose one’s will upon a community - be it a statue already declined by the school district of a troubled athlete or the draconian clearing of property for development by removal of a historic oak - is to take advantage of tax laws structured to allow the wealthy to avoid contributing to public taxes.
