My mother left her home of 55 years to move into Brookdale Southfield, and I can’t express how grateful we are for this decision. From the moment she arrived, she was immediately impressed with the warm and welcoming atmosphere. Her apartment was beautifully designed, providing just the right amount of space for her to feel comfortable and independent. One of her favorite parts of the day was getting dressed for dinner and heading downstairs to enjoy a meal and conversation with her new friends. Brookdale Southfield didn’t just provide her with a new home—it truly added years to her life, bringing her joy and a renewed sense of community.

My mother stayed at Brookdale for respite care. Amber was very accommodating and we can't say enough about her customer service. The room was very spacious and modern. There were opportunities to participate in fun activities on and off-site. The entire facility is well kept and beautiful. My mother was overall comfortable during her stay and enjoyed the meals. We will consider Brookdale for longterm residency the time comes.

HORRIBLE FOOD. DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONE TO BROOKDALE SOUTHFIELD. We rented an apartment for our loved one and over the course of time we realized that the food being served in the dining room has pretty much no nutritional value: frozen commercial food filled with corn syrup, artificial ingredients and preservatives, tasteless, and poorly cooked and served COLD. The food is FAR WORSE THAN HOSPITAL FOOD. Many residents have complained but Brookdale has done NOTHING.

My Father looked at a lot of senior facilities before deciding on Southfield Brookdale.
My husband and I are very Impressed with how well run Brookdale is.
They have the BEST people helping the residents.
It wasn’t easy for anyone during the pandemic.
Sarah the director of Brookdale did a stellar job.
Shelly found many creative ways to help the boredom of the residents during Covid. From live Music played outside of the building, Moonbeams for Sweet-dreams, Ice Cream and Candy delivery, Bar cart on Fridays, and many other things.
The Covid vaccine Clinic was very well organized.
Derek was so very helpful with my Mother getting her vaccine.
We were so grateful for your help.
We recommend Brookdale Southfield 100 percent.

I enjoy living here because I like the cleanliness, the food, and the atmosphere. The staff seems to have a real concern for the residents and I have not had any problems with the service. Unfortunately, I moved in at the beginning of the pandemic and a lot of things have been shut down, but they still offer a decent range of activities and I look forward to much more once we are thru this crisis. I like the accommodations and as of right now, I am satisfied.

Do not place your loved one in this facility. My Mother was treated terribly during her short stay at Brookdale Southfield. The assisted living care that she paid for was terrible. Her food was always cold when she received it. She also had many items stolen from her apartment. We told management several times about the issues that we were having and nothing was done. My Mother ended up in the hospital from a fall and while there it was discovered that she had bed sores which she has never had before. That was the last straw for our family.

I would give Brookdale Southfield 10 stars if I could! My 93 year old mother has been a resident for over six years. There is no doubt that her life has been extended and enriched by the Brookdale Southfield environment and “family” of friends and staff. The building is beautifully decorated and maintained; the amenities and activities provide comfort, camaraderie, stimulation and fun. The staff (“Associates”) is responsive, solicitous, and compassionate. During the pandemic Brookdale Southfield Associates have been positively heroic in protecting residents, pivoting to new responsibilities (e.g., meal delivery, laundry service, daily temperature checks, etc.) and devising creative, safe activities to boost morale and fend off loneliness. The entire team – Executive Director, Resident Services, Resident Programs, Housekeeping, Maintenance, Food Service, Reception, etc. – deserves top rating and gratitude. Mom is in the right place! Thank you.

Natalie and I moved in exactly five years ago and we have found the staff to be friendly and very helpful. The staff has done a great job of keeping us safe during the pandemic and they have given us surprise treats since we have to stay inside.

We love the large pool for exercising, the exercise room and the different exercise classes. We love the variety of activities offered in the community, Shelly does a great job of programming fun entertainment and activities. When things get back to normal, we will be able to take bus trips back to meijer, target, kroger, etc.

The housekeeping staff is reliable, thorough, and always show up when you need them.

ComforCare has been a huge help and we're glad they are in our community.
