Fantastic organization with much of the programming organized and supported by volunteers. I’ve participated in a handful of activities and have found most to be very well organized. Seems like there was an influx of interest during the past year and they seem to have managed to scale up well.

Highly recommend joining one of their efforts. Just sign up for the newsletter or watch for updates on social media. It seems to be more reliable than the website.

I attended the 6/18/16 desert water drop event. The experience was rewarding. After the event I felt a sense of accomplishment and pride. Helping out a fellow human being is always right.

However, I also need to share my thoughts on the way these events are organized. My fellow volunteers and I ended up getting lost, and our team leader wouldn't answer our phone calls. We literally drove around Ocotillo trying to find our group.

We were seperated because another team leader told us to wait to tag along with another group, which also took off with out us. Volunteers were asked to consolidate in the least number of vehicles because parking was limited, which in fact it wasn't.

It would of been easier to instruct drivers to follow their team leaders to the drop off point, instead of giving them a print out copy of google maps with no specific location point.

Team leaders need to be more organized and more caring for their volunteers, specially for those first timers. People drive long distances to join them in their cause. Next time I decide to drop off water jugs I'll probably just go by myself.

This group is amazing, they're incredibly friendly and supportive of those that come to help. It's also awesome seeing all sides come together under the simple idea of reducing unnecessary deaths.

A goal of Border Angels is to lower death rates from migrant crossings. Participating in their Desert Water Drop was an enlightening experience, it gave me a glimpse of the harsh conditions migrants have to endure. To know the water gallons I carried will directly save a life is inexplicable! Death should never be the penalty for migrating, not in the U.S., not anywhere.
