Excellent quality senior meals! Every staff member is super friendly and continuously checks to make sure everything is ok and if you need anything. They have excellent food temperature controls in place; the cold items are very cold and the hot items are piping hot. The dining area is kept spotless. The quality, variety, nutritional value, and taste of the food are top notch. A very enjoyable experience. They treat everyone like family!

Seniors exercise class! Good workout. Friendly class members. The class time has been changed to 930 with blood pressure being taken from 9 to 9:30. Then the exercise class will run until about 10:15. There will be crafts, bingo, or health lectures until 10:45.
At least for the summer.

This facility was referred by 211. I called first to be sure that I was welcome here. Diem was very nice on the phone, and even nicer in person when I met her on May 3, 2023. She deserves a 5 star. She asked me if I wanted to be registered for the daily hot meals for seniors as well. I said yes. I can only come here on Wednesdays because the cost of gas and 25 min drive makes it difficult. 5/17/23 was the second Wed I drove here. I learned you'll be denied a hot meal if you arrive after 11:30 am when they start serving. I arrived around 11:55 am and noon. Without checking the food warmer first, Tomy said there's no food left 🙁 It felt like I was being punished for coming later than 11:30am.

Note that the day I registered, I was told the same thing (no food left) until Diem REPEATEDLY told the manager I was very hungry. The manager then told Gloria, who serves the lunches, to give me hot food. And Gloria gave me some.

I don't understand why this facility withholds food for a hungry senior unless they save the food for themselves. I wonder how many other seniors were denied food in the past.

Note that meals are provided by the Jewish Family Service of San Diego and sponsored by The Older American's Act Funds and awarded by the County of San Diego through Aging and Independence Services. There is a sign-in sheet. Hot lunches are individually packed. The milk, dessert and salad come in a brown bag. Gloria is assigned in the lunch room.

1 star for denying food to a senior without checking the food warmer first. What a shame.

Bayside hosts a ton of events and they are all really nice people at this community center. Among others, they have ballet folklorico and after-school tutoring here. A great place to volunteer!

There is a play ground for little kids like my sis basketball and it is a place eny one can dance have and have party's.
