Awesome staff, what a diligent and caring team. Managers were on point and working hard personally caring for the residents continually throughout the day doing lots of heavy lifting as if they were hired aids. Always great to see top down leadership prowess having a bottom up leadership effect on staff and residents. I’ve been in the service industry for well over 2 decades and have never seen kind of leadership in an Assisted Living facility. ?

This place is amazing. Just go in and take a look. They take care of their residents really well. The first thing you notice is that it is secure. There is no chance of anybody wandering off due to the secure doors. Also, there is no chance of a stranger walking in without being buzzed in. When you do finally get in, the lobby is quite spectacular. Large bay windows overlooking the famous Kenai river. A huge fish tank, a karaoke/performance area, a grand piano in the lobby, a nice visiting area, and the smell of good food. I would challenge anybody to find a better place. It makes me wish I could live there.

My mom has lived there since they opened. She has to have help getting up and in her wheelchair. She can dress herself except to pull her pants up over her butt. She needs her clothes brought to her so she can get dressed, but she won't call for help so she can go eat breakfast. She says their too busy getting other residents to breakfast so she don't eat in dinning room. She buys milk and cereal and keeps in her fridge in her room so she can eat after someone comes to help her up.
I recently paid just under $70.00 to get a package mailed to my mom, so she would have it on time for her birthday and Christmas. I had a tracking number for it and it had been delivered to the facility on Thursday at noon, but no one could find it. Turns out the administrator, or admin. Assistant, Darla, kept it in her office until the following monday. Mom was so hurt she didn't get it. I spoke with Darla, all she said was she wasn't perfect and she would reimburse me half my money. I asked her when and she ended up hanging up on me. She told my mom i yelled at her so she hung up and that she would give her (my mom) half the money for the cost of mailing the package. Now Darla says she's not going to give either one of us the money. That frustrates mom because she Don't want to think that they would lie to her.
Some other concerns I have is the cook Richardson, Darla, and some of the other employees stand in the kitchen eating food with their fingers. I have caught then several times. This is so against health regulations. Mom has trouble eating some of the meat that is served there and has told them numerous times. I have told them she can't chew the meat, and she can't cut it up either with 1 hand, maybe you could cut it up for her and put some gravy on it. But they don't. Their are a few good workers there and mom has a few she trusts to lift her out of bed and set in wheelchair. I called her last week and she told me she had to go it ER because a new guy lifted her up and squeezed to hard. She thought he broke a rib because she was having trouble breathing. Ended up no broken ribs, just bruised real good.
Do not trust the administrator Darla, she will lie to you

This is a very nice place with a loving staff. My mom always has a smile and she seems very happy there. The new management is a nice change.

Lazy, abusive and degrading staff. My loved one has been yelled at and physically hurt, the bed sores from not being taken care of are horrifying. The staff will not do more than they have too.

PLACE IS OKAY. THEY DON'T SEEM TO GIVE PROPER NUTRITION TO THE DIABETICS THERE. ALL I HAVE SEEN IS HIGH CARB HIGH STARCH FOOD FOR THEIR MEALS AND MY COUSIN CAN'T SEEM TO GET THEIR BLOOD SUGAR TO STABELIZE. FRIENDLY STAFF AND A NICE SECURE FACILITY. DIDN'T MUCH CARE FOR THE 5 PEOPLE SMOKING OUTSIDE THE FRONT DOOR.
