i adopted my beautiful little girl Peebles in January and had a mostly wonderful experience! the staff were caring and attentive and walked me through the whole process. my one issue is that after reading her paperwork when i came home with her, i saw she was diagnosed with an unspecified dental disease, which was NOT disclosed to me at the time of adoption. the note said she will need frequent dental cleanings, which can absolutely change someones ability to adopt and should have absolutely been disclosed. thankfully i am in a place where i can provide the care she needs for her gingivitis (i had to take her in to the free exam to get diagnosed), but if i wasnt, i would have had to return her, which would have broken a bunch of hearts all around. humane society, PLEASE make sure you are FULLY disclosing the animas medical history and notes while chatting with prospective adoptive families.
overall i am so incredibly thrilled and grateful to have found this wonderful kitty, so thank you to everyone who played a role in helping me adopt my lovely girl 🙂 she has found her forever home!

We have adopted several animals from Various sites in the Twin cities and have always had a great experience. All pictured were adopted locally. We have had some unfortunate need of the veterinary services which has also been very caring and professional. We had to have some pets euthanized which was incredibly hard and they were very patient and caring. They even sent a condolence card with a paw prints of our lost pet. Really warmed my heart.

3-5-24 So far been bringing our medium size puppy here to Dog/ Puppy School for several weeks. My wife and I have really enjoyed bringing her here, seems to be helping especially getting her more socialized and out of her comfort zone. The trainers are great, the facility is very nice size so all with pets can be spread out. More weeks to go, highly recommended.

Plenty of parking conveniently located directly around the building, overall a fairly simple place to navigate.

The amazing staff at the Golden Valley Humane Society are truly doggie saints in my opinion! As every business does have some cons, their cons are; super busy, hard/near impossible to reach over the phone. Due to that, this can lead to missed contacts and/or reminder calls for appointments or assistance. Pros; once you’re in the door, it’s a piece of cake! I was given an email to reach out to and I personally find I get a response within an hour or two vs calling/voicemail/waiting. They’re extremely great with animals, of course, but also go out of their way to make sure humans are just as good as their fav pet! The class deal they have, I find, to be unbelievable!! Pay a monthly or yearly fee (they have different subscription options) and take as many different classes as you and your furry friend would love!
And above all else, they care so so much! Even having special rates to help as much as they can in the community! The photos are of my little Olive, whom they have cared for over the last year! ❤️

Great variety of animals that look healthy and happy! Dogs are about $450 but that includes neutering and all vaccines! You can walk the doggies here too. Cats were mostly older cats. However, this location regularly get puppies and kitties. They had bunnies, birds, and mouse/hamsters available as well. Helpful staff.
