Towards the end of last summer, I had the wonderful opportunity to attend a performance of Romeo and Juliet at this venue. The outdoor theater provided a cozy and intimate setting, which enhanced the overall experience. With a talented cast bringing the classic tale to life, it was an evening filled with enchantment and emotion that I won't soon forget.

Such a magical experience. I've seen Romeo and Juliet numerous times but seeing the direction and acting of signing actors and translating costars brought an entirely new level to the work. It was beautiful, passionate, and emotional. It was a performance that I will reflect on for years to come. I'm so thankful Wisconsin has such an incredible institution.

As always, I was blown away by American Players Theatre. Their shows are always extremely well done and high quality. But also, they have absolutely phenomenal hearing loss accomodations, especially for such a small theater. They offer both a hearing loop and captioning on the GalaPro app. For the captioning, they provide a tablet and stand so you can set your captions up at the perfect height and angle for you, all for no charge. Madison's gigantic performing arts center offers zero captioning options, and this tiny theater in woods provides a top notch experience. I feel so welcome.

Wow this place is incredible! Not too far from Madison. They have a little shop to buy gifts and a stand for food and drinks. The outdoor theatre itself is beautiful. It’s set in the woods. A must go to if you’re near Madison in the summer! I saw Sense and Sensibility at around 7:30pm on a weekday(great time to go if you don’t mind staying up a bit late). The evening is a wonderful time to see a play since it’s not too hot and the coolness of the evening makes things more enjoyable:) bug spray provided. Very wheelchair accessible (take the bus and they will drop you right off at the theatre).

We had a magical picnic, then walked up the "WILD" western trail to the amazing wooded hills lookout. We saw LIARS and laughed our eyes to tears. šŸ˜ŠšŸ‘šŸ¤£ 7.20.23

Magical and a nice goal for a weekend get-away! Classic plays performed by A+ Acting. (Shakespeare included) For outdoors it is acoustically sound and quite pleasant! Crickets and Whip-poor-wills accompany nighttime performances.
Arrive hour or so early and bring a picnic/bottle of wine to enjoy with a peaceful background. (Sometimes local musicians picking celtic tunes); they have dozens of tables and even some grills. Some tables located in woods while others in meadows. They even provide bug spray if needed. Natural landscaping lends to a cozy-casual feel. Then a lovely, warmly lit stroll up the hill to the outdoor theater . (They also have a smaller indoor theater with different performances)
Intermission has sales of drinks and snacks. Plenty of restrooms and lines moves quickly.
If walking uphill isnt possible they also offer a bus/trolly up. Quite nice for our friends who cannot walk with us.
