Cake Hole Drag Show! Go go go go go!!! Especially if you've never been to a drag show - this show was incredible! The next one is Dec 21st at Gilman St Brewing. They have a performance room in the back that needs to be filled for this performance! The artists are top tier and the show was incredible!

So tonight I did a thing. I took my daughter and two of her friends here to see a punk show. Honestly, I wasn't expecting much. But I was actually blown away with the talent, raw drive and energy they play with. Really humbled.

I've been to many shows / gigs at Gilman from 1998 to 2014, of which there are many. Gilman is not just a quintessential place of punk history, it's also one of the best venues for punk, crust punk, and all kinds of underground hardcore / hardcore punk bands. My favorite show at Gilman was seeing Dystopia headline in 2002. I had seen them 3 times before this show, but the performance they gave was their best IMO. The band had shirts for sale at the show, but I didn't buy one because I already had bought a Dystopia shirt from them in 1996, when they toured the US with Skaven. I have included pictures of my 1996 Dystopia shirt for reference.

My friend and I had a great time. He hasn't been to a punk show in 21 years and I never been. So obviously our sample size is large enough to objectively rate this as the MOST AWESOME THING PERIOD.
I love that they don't allow alcohol or drugs.

It was great to finally visit this storied venue that some of my favorite bands either grew up playing at along with volunteering for shows held at the venue or grew up going to shows and met the people who would become their bandmates. It is a welcoming atmosphere for all of any age and I look forward to any opportunity I may have to visit again.

To say I love The Gilman is an understatement. I get giddy on the way. There's just something about it.
Volunteer operated, a place for young/new bands to get stage time.
Great shows(haven't seen a bad one yet.)

I could go on and on. I'm gonna end this quickly as not to ramble.

If you are into the types of music that play here, go. Go! To the next show. Show up an hour, or earlier, help out.

I wish I lived next door.

I appreciate Gilman for everything they have done to contribute to local Bay area musicians. That being sad...
The youth today need to be lead in a positive conducive direction and pandering to mainstream popular social structures is not the way to do it. Question everything especially government funded agenda's. People who think they're on the right side of history are uneducated and throw future generations under the bus by adhering to police state tactics as well as ideologies funded by the government. Pathetic how stupid people are sometimes.
