My father was at this facility for a very short time- he did have Dementia with behaviors and would like to walk around. This is not a facility for that kind of person. They really only have stage one & 2 dementia and Alzheimer’s patients at this facility. They are very low staffed & Cannot handle any type of behavior. They are not trained to handle these types of patients either. My dad would be lost for a long time and they didn’t even know it, he would fall and would be hurt and they did not know it until later. They interviewed him, excepted him and then a few months in when they figured out they couldn’t handle him, said we had to find him a new place to stay. It was very disruptive, please know that if your family member needs more care than what they can give -Please go somewhere else. The only good I will say is that the food is better at this facility than at a lot of other places so at least they get fed well but not taken care of. The staff try’s but is overwhelmed. Two people at night for 40+ patients -it’s not good. Those in charge of this place - are overwhelmed as well & you can tell they are very overworked. If you’re looking for an adult daycare and your Loved one is self sufficient or in a wheelchair of some sort they will probably be fine here. If not, look elsewhere. I send prayers your way.

Caring staff that are willing to help families before and during care of our loved ones. Quick responders to questions and concerns. I was always greated with smiles and felt very at ease there. The Administrator went above and beyond to guide me through this unknown territory to me. The nurses aides are very friendly and made me happy! Unfortunately my friend was transferred to another facility to be closer to his family, he’s mentioned on several occasions he misses all the staff. Thank you, team Alpha!

My family is comfortable with the staff caring for our mother. Jennie the director is a leader and can multi-task in every area of her facility. It is tough to run a small business let alone a memory care facility. We are blessed our mother is there under her watch. They have a fantastic staff. My family viewed six properties in Wausau for memory care to be closer to home, but only one could compete with Alpha Senior Concepts. We still have my mother at Alpha Senior Concepts and chose to drive the long distance, because at the end of the day my mother deserves the best care.

I really would like to get along with these workers, but they know my phone number and I can call 18 times a day, and I only call once or twice a week, they still don’t answer.Now all we get is a recording, constant at a business ; seriously, My sisters friends continue to call me that phone rings off the hook all day, no one answers ; and now Recorder no one answers. I know I try six or seven times a day, on days I try, and same happens, I understand their busy but that’s unreal, My sister doesn’t know anyone should at least get a phone to talk with family & friends which I offered to pay for. These are elderly have very little to look forward to and can’t get phone calls, Get help or close the place. Also my sister is not getting all gifts & mail sent, I guess I’ll have to go further with OMBUDSMAN . These are elders , how sad they have nothing left but mail and calls. They erase my post, don’t like the truth what a place, never answer phone , won’t let my sister have her own phone, and she’s always had one , before her grand daughter took over. Open her mail give her only what they want her to have. All illegal. Won’t allow her to speak to her family and friends, the ones that were there over the years, while the granddaughter was working and having children. Used her family to get what she needed to become POA. They can tell me what’s best for her , when I’ve always been there for her , her sons two deaths and her husbands 2 yrs of cancer before he died , and they take her where she knows no one and decide what’s best for someone that’s been through so much, and the director Nicky does exactly what they say, karma comes to everyone. Good luck , hope you won’t be treated so poorly when you’re an elder. Jean Howard you need to get your staff in order . Elderly abuse. Also started asking people that call when they finally answer after trying for three days or more if their me , my sister since she’s only one without a phone that granddaughter doesn’t want her to have , should make her own choices on calls , since she was taken away from everyone she knew.
The granddaughter took her savings and sold her home and kept all the money, not worried about her best interest. You’re not authorized by law to use my name or question others, that’s Norma’s decision to make. What are you afraid of ? Norma learning the truth , believe me she already knows. Don’t tell me she has dementia and can’t see , we’re the ones that took her to appointments and looked after them.And quit recording phone calls, also illegal. Her so called POA and your establishment should be ashamed of yourselves. And I have talked with people that had same problems and told me they filed with state. I know you erase my reviews but allot of people know what you’re doing. Quit removing . Afraid of the truth

Beautiful accommodation. Friendly staff and they specialize in memory care which is what Mom needs right now. They even offer family support through the process. All families are invited to an afternoon to learn about the Positive Approach to Care at Alpha with a Teepa Snow trained counselor. Inspiring.

Mom was a resident for 5+ years. Dementia slowly took over. It was a long road.
She lived with our family for 2 years prior. Making the decision to move her to a facility, although in everybody's best interest, was the hardest one I've ever made. It was a process to let go, to trust and to accept.
In the beginning, I was more of a handful than my Mom. I'm pretty sure an "all hands on deck" alert went out when I entered the building. They were tolerant, patient, forgiving and understanding. I was an overbearing son that wanted the best care for my Mom.
Weeks turned into months turned into years. My routine of sharing a meal with Mom then walking the facility - observing everything and everyone along the way, reassured me she was in good hands. I learned the only thing tougher than having dementia is being a caregiver in a facility for it. Word.
Alpha, like every facility in their line of work, have/had their share of challenges. We went through a pandemic. It's how those challenges were met along the way that made the difference.
In a sentence, Alpha Senior Concepts is a dedicated group of individuals committed to the caring, safety and well-being of other people's loved ones.
Thank you Alpha for the years of care and support of Mom. (And for putting up with me.) You gave me peace of mind.

My husband died one year ago in this facility. He lived there about a month or so. The staff in my opinion, is young, mostly uncaring, poorly trained and poorly supervised. My husband was there for 10 days before i realized he hadn’t had a shower. The answer a got was oh he wasn’t on the schedule. I was constantly looking for his clearly labeled clothes and bedding after the staff did the laundry. On more than one occasion he wasn’t given his medication. When I asked why, the young girl responsible yelled at me. The cooks are frequently a member of the staff because the cook didn’t show up that day.The menu is low in nutrients and high sodium ie, sauerkraut with smoked sausage, and mostly consists of canned fruit and vegetables. There didn’t appear to be any afternoon snack healthy or otherwise. I visited my husband everyday and always brought food which he devoured When I couldn’t make it another member of the family would be there. Being there everyday was the only I could make sure he was getting some level of care.

My father Don B. was a resident at Alpha Senior Concepts in Howard for several years. Dad received wonderful care there. The people really cared about him and for him, from the housekeepers, cooks, nurses and direct care givers. Everyone was always polite, aware of his privacy and treated him like family and with dignity. A special thanks to Matt who could always get dad out of one of his "moods". The administrative staff always kept us up to date on dad's cares and needs. Thank you all so much, even though I live a great distance away, I never had to worry about the care dad received.
