The staff at Aegis of Aptos has consistently proven to genuinely care for the wellbeing of our Mom. They are welcoming, responsive and attentive to her evolving needs. The place itself is beautiful and well maintained. It feels more like a fine hotel than a residence for seniors when one walks in! The quality of activities make for a stimulating daily life for the residents who wish to participate. We are so grateful there was an opening for our Mom when we needed it and continue to be impressed by how well it’s run and all it offers.

As a neighbor residing in the development behind Aegis, I must caution against considering this place for loved ones. While the facilities are pleasant, there are serious concerns about the staff's handling of emergencies. Numerous residents have experienced significant falls in the back walking areas, leading to delays in assistance. Regrettably, it has fallen on nearby neighbors to alert Aegis to these incidents. Subsequently, the response time from staff to come outside and contact emergency services has been unacceptably prolonged. This alarming pattern has left many of us in the community worried about the safety of residents in the event of falls along the backyard paths. Additionally, there have been unsettling instances of residents becoming disoriented and lost. If this were my cherished parent, I would seek alternative accommodations due to these concerning safety lapses.

A friend of mine moved into the Aegis Aptos memory care unit a couple of months ago and it has been a lifesaver. She was really struggling at home and the move to Aegis has brought her a new quality of life and peace of mind to her loved ones. The Aegis staff are dedicated, communicative, professional, and caring. I have been impressed all around and most important my friend loves her new home.

My mom has only been at Aegis for several months and I am impressed with loving care that she is receiving. Her room is very pleasant, and she has a number of activities to participate in each day. The staff is quick to inform us of her needs and activities. Management is very proactive in promoting resident welfare.

My wife has been at Aegis of Aptos since February 2016. The entire staff and management are terrific and care very much for the tenants especially the residents like my wife who have Alzheimer's. The past 18 months have been especially trying with C-19 on the staff, residents and families but again they have done a great job.

My parents have been there for one year during a very difficult time in our history - Covid! They have been kept safe, activities are all up and running, along with the bus tours which they love to take. Staff all know my parents by name and often their preferences as well which makes this community seem more like family that an assisted living facility. Thank you to everyone for continuing to keep them well.
