Allaso Ranch Camp and Retreat Center - Hawkins, Texas

Went for a church retreat, love it! First off, plan to drive earlier so you can stop by Mineloa and do some sightseeing and shopping. I went to the Count Your Blessings Christian Shop and got some nice gifts, highly recommended. Then I went to the Mineola Antique Mall and did some shopping for clothes and accessories, so cute! There is also a railroad and other shops to visit, good to come back on its own but I was in a hurry by then. Then of course there is Hawkins, I also went to have dinner at the Italian restaurant by the lake before the ranch opened. Nice, relaxing time.

Now, on the the facilities themselves: they are comfortable and adequate. Look for the thermostat so you can adjust the temperature to your liking for the night.
The food is excellent, I loved the chicken and pasta, yummy!
Depending on the time of year you come, the water park will be open or not, very nice and unexpected.
We had our Bible studies in the auditorium-cafeteria area and it was nice and comfortable though we went when it was very cold outside. There is coffee, tea and water served throughout your stay!
It's such a serene place to just walk around early in the morning. Very picturesque. Plethora of activities, something for everyone for sure!

I fell on hard times could not complete my payment of like a couple hundred only . I reached out to let them know that my son would not be able to attend. I requested a partial refund after all I needed to pay rent and get my medication Fellowship Downtown Dallas and Allaso Ranch owned by Pastor Ed refused to give me any money back, excusing this saying that he would have credit at the camp. Like What the heck. But that's exactly why I stopped going to the church in the first place . Alot of rich pretenders . They are not what you believe them to be . I only allowed my son to go to the camp because it made him excited to learn about God. However we will all be judged accordingly. They are awful fake Christians whom do just enough to make themselves look dedicated and about the people .

I had a wonderful opportunity to enjoy Allaso Ranch for a singles retreat with my church and I enjoyed every minute of it! From the kind and helpful staff, the delicious food, beautiful nature trails full of interesting plants and insects, and an exquisite aquatic center with a fun, relaxing lazy river, it was quite an enjoyable experience! Be prepared for lots of sand on the trails and make sure to bring a flashlight because it gets dark out there!

The kids school had their 5th grade camp here and I was fortunate enough to chaperone. This place was a blast! So many fun activities. They keep you busy constantly which is a great thing for these kids! We walked so much while there but it never felt like it. Beautiful camp!
