I called and they told me they are not helping anyone right now. So how are all of you getting help? Not one place anywhere is offering help . Tucson is a joke. You only get help if you are a migrant or are mexican. Amd I'm mexican jist not the right color I've been told.

Angels!! Best way to describe them, very helpful, they help veterans find housing, financially assist in deposits, rent, other fees, temporary housing. My case manager is Josefina, very helpful, has been a complete God send. Very professional, courteous, always at a phones reach. Anna was first person I met there and was a little surprised how helpful she was, very understanding to my needs. Everyone else there has treated me with respect, and has never looked down at me. If I could suggest one thing is that they had an individual, or van to transport vets to apartment complexes would be a tremendous asset, especially for those of us in wheelchairs. Other than that, they work well to help vets and are a true blessing. Thank you!!

Esperança Paulo screwed me big. she got mad at me because I did not want the first place that cane along it was in disrepair and there was the heavy odor o marijuana in the place and the Realtor was terrible and very hard to get straight answers from (fort Lowell reality) well all in all I have to live next door to meth head dealer that grows pot and bullies his neighbors to move out so he can be back as usual, and the kicker is their housing inspector passed the dump without inspecting the fridge did not work properly, the furnace has no thermostat, the porch is rotting the bathroom hot water doesn't work, and she smelled the strong Oder of weed growing. I could never recommend Esperança Paulo, she just pawned me off so she could go do whatever she had to do that was more important than treat me like a human being. she puts on a friendly smile while kicking your azz. I will be homeless or dead soon, I'm 65 in bad health again because of her. and her fraudulent inspection. I CALLED THE ASSISTANT DIRECTOR AND SHE DIDN'T CARE AT ALL. IT'S THE WHOLE PROGRAM THAT'S A FRAUD. THEY DON'T REALLY CARE ABOUT VETERANS AND THEY HATE THE DISABLED AND ELDERLY Esperança Paulo SAID TO ME IF I WAS DISABLED MAYBE WE SHOULD NOT BE HELPING ME IF YOU CAN'T TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF, JUST BECAUSE I MENTIONED I WAS DISABLED AND ON SOCIAL SECURITY.

PAV are the organization that actually stick by veterans without constant complaints about the many cases they take on. Compared to the Veterans administration where some of the peer support specialists constantly leave veterans in a lurch then complain their caseloads are overwhelming and exhausting!

Absolutely phenomenal Case Managers on site whom truly care about the entire family of the Veteran needing help. Being homeless and a Honored Vet for that is nerve-wracking but it's great knowing that in event of bad circumstances, this place has workers whom listen, flexible interviews, open door policy for a word of hope and my experience with staff here made me comfortable discussing vulnerable topics and even though my case didn't qualify, the resources and effort shown in my best interest was rememorable.

Project Action for Veterans helped my toddler and I to be rapidly re-housed when we arrived in Tucson. Much of our experience was positive with them, because they assisted with housing and utilities costs for 6 months. They certainly could work on their communication with the veterans they serve and their coworkers. There were many times where I needed to show up in order to receive an answer about whether or not my rent was being paid, because my complex manager hadn't received it.

The following is an account of the most critical issue I encountered with Project Action for Veterans:

My case manager with PAV up and retired and everything she promised me went by the wayside along with her. Their idea of an exit plan strategy was to tell me I’d be fully financially responsible for my rent, due 10 days from the date I was contacted. I was scared of ending up in the same predicament that landed me in their office to begin with. My wish is that they would have been more understanding and communicative.
