I have two animals from CHA, our rabbit Elvira and our pup Raven. I wish the small animals came spayed/Neutered like dogs and cats, but I understand that small animals can be hard to operate on.
We adopted Raven last month and had a scary experience where two days after adopting her, she was coughing. We called and they were able to give us medications to treat kennel cough. She bounced back quickly and we are so thankful for that help, as Canyon Pet Hospital was charging over $1,000 and wanted to hospitalize. Thank you again!

Adopted my dog here about a month ago and let me just start off by saying..it’s absolutely gut wrenching the condition she was in that none of the other dogs weren’t. Skin and bones. Mind you she was there since two months old and stayed there for six months. There is no reason for her to be that skinny when she eats at home everyday since like she hasn’t and never refuses the food. On top of that she has shown every sign of being mistreated and abused so her being scared and sad is out of the window for why she “wasn’t” eating when she’s absolutely terrified of every human even her owners besides our dog she loves her and is so open and playful with her. To include we also got our first dog from here and she has trauma responses as well if you flick your hand and she hears it she starts trembling and running away terrified as if she was flicked badly while being there. Lastly our new dog is sick…and for this place to say it’s normal for dogs to have kennel cough and giardia in their shelter is foul I don’t know what this place has going on but it’s disgusting to know how they are treating the dogs let alone their behavior and ugly attitude towards people that want to adopt. They didn’t even post her on their page when dogs get adopted and I wonder why when she got her picture taken. Was it because how skinny she was and how every singular bone could be counted. I will never step foot back in this place or recommend it to anyone. I’ll provide a picture of her the first day we adopted her and her condition.

I have several serious concerns regarding this shelter. Firstly, during both of my visits, the kennels were extremely dirty and appeared even worse the second time. Additionally, there were numerous errors in the paperwork, including incorrect gender, age, and microchip information. The shelter also misrepresented the dog's age to increase the price. Furthermore, they handed over my puppy while she was very ill with giardia, due to clogged drains in front of their enclosures that overflowed into the kennels. As I was trying to configure housing to not further ail my roommates, Ash was given away while still sick, showing a lack of concern for her well-being, her new owners, or me. Therefore, I cannot recommend this shelter. It is unsanitary, unprofessional, and dishonest. I deeply miss my baby girl, Ash, and I hold the shelter accountable for their deceitful and negligent practices.

I adopted one kitten two weeks ago. We fell in love with our kitten, Brandy. She is so adorable and alongside with my other oldest cat which is two years old. Both playing each other and she's so beyond sweet kitten!

I adopted a little brown dog, named him Ch’áayah, and he lived with me from November 2020 until today. He had some medical issues they made me aware of and I didn’t think twice about adopting him. He was truly such a gem, lots of spunk and personality. The staff was super helpful when I adopted him and made the process easy. Last photo is him the day of adoption.
