I recently donated blood for the first time with a group of friends at the Airport Heights location. Before our visit, I called the helpline for general information about proper preparation. From my first interaction with the kind individual on the info line to our actual visit to the Blood bank, it was a positive experience all around. Staff members were friendly, helpful, and more than willing to answer our many questions. The process of donating blood took a little under an hour. It was a comfortable and pain-free experience (I had a fantastic Phlebotomist and can say the same for my friends). Everyone had a great time and LOVED the snack selection post-donation. Chips, cookies, Gatorade, pretzels, fruit juice - it's evident the staff puts a lot of thought and effort into the "recovery" area. I wish I had known how effortless this process can be sooner; to think that an hour of our time can save three lives AND we get snacks? We've all signed up for our next session in February already 🙂 Thank you, Airport Heights Team, for being amazing!

I'm so frustrated with these people. I donated blood a fee mo ths ago, for the 1st time. I got an email saying they need platelet donations. So, I called and scheduald my donation appointment. I went into that room and answered all Sheri question on the computer (same answers ad last time. The lady asked about my lungs. I explained 3 times (each time she left to go talk with someone) that my lungs only work at 70% and my lungs have been bad since birth. After thr 3rd time she left, a new lady came in and said that the 1st lady was confused. So, I explained for the 4th time about my lungs and how nothing had changed and that all my medications are the same and none of them are on the do not donate list. She still didn't understand so I expressed my frustration and left.

This was probably the worst experience I've had with donating blood in the past 20 years. One of the employees started harassing me in front of other staff and patients. It was humiliating, and I'm questioning whether I will go back in 56 days. I will probably try again, though, because I can't blame the company or punish needy patients for one employee's behavior. I do hope someone had a good long talk with that employee, though, on appropriate work behavior.

The is absolutely the worst blood bank I've ever been to in my life. I've been here 5 times trying to get medical phlebotomy. They said they never got the fax the first 3 times. The 4th time they I actually went to the hospital and got a paper prescription. They scheduled me for an appointment and then promptly lost the prescription. I went back today for the 5th time. Nobody put my prescription in the computer and they lost it so. They said they would call me when they got a call back from the prescription from my doctor. Basically this is the most incompetence I have ever witnessed at any medical facility. I would say they got their employees from the kitchen at McDonald's but I really don't think these people have the mental prowess to wash dishes.

I had a wonderful time here! Everyone was very welcoming and kind. My phlebotomist was lovely and the donation was very smooth. Snacks were awesome too. I've donated in lots of places and this was one of the best experiences I've ever had. Donate blood here !

I am pretty upset about the lack of adequate time management. I arrived 10 minutes early to my appointment, and was immediately put into a room for the questionnaire because they weren’t too busy. Great! I finished it in 5 minutes, had a lady walk in and say “I’ll be back in one moment to test your hematocrit levels”, and was not be seen after 20 minutes!! I finally stepped out the door and caught the attention of someone else who was surprised I had been waiting so long. The lobby was empty, and there was only one person in a chair of 15 available since I walked in.

She started to check me in and it took ANOTHER 20 minutes just to do a 5 minute check in (she was training so I don’t exactly fault her for this, but COME ON! There were literally 3-4 fully trained phlebotomists walking around or sitting around not doing anything that could have helped her).

Long story short, by the time I was hooked up and blood flowing, it took a full hour and 10 minutes, and I missed my following appointment which was 5 minutes up the road. I normally go to the Dimond location and will continue to do so, regardless of how nice this facility looked because I have never spent more than 45 minutes there, in and out. Be warned not to ever book an appointment elsewhere after giving blood here, because you won’t make it on time.

Only saving grace is it’s a beautiful facility and the snack area is nice.

Nice clean building, staff is very attentive, very positive experience! I've donated many times and it can be hit or miss with me and my veins. Tech got my vein first try and checked up on me to make sure everything went smoothly. Very comfy chairs and all the juice and cookies your heart desires.
