My kids and I stayed here about eight months after being displaced due to domestic violence. This place helped me get back on my feet, and build a good safety plan once we were finally ready to move on. This place saved us.
The only advice I have is, in diversity people are coming from different walks of life to this place, the best thing you can do is be kind and respectful, but keep your head down and focus on yourself and your kids. It's to easy to let other people's problems become your own because we all care and want to help each other. Remember why your there; to get help, not make friends. Take care of #1 You & Yours ❤️

Horrible place to work at but allowing clients to do weed off the proerty is just enabling them as well as knowing there's those individuals that may be selling or doing drugs while in shelter,

I escaped a toxic relationship in November, I had to leave everything behind in Texas but my 1 suitcase I brought.. I don’t have a supportive family, I was staying in a unsafe environment and CPS directed me to this place. I couldn’t thank them enough!!! They’ve helped my son and I so much, the staff are amazing and understanding as long as you do your part, they’ll go out of their way to make anything possible. Your advocate will check in weekly to talk about your goals, first week, I got car, then a job, now 05/07/2020 I enlisted into the United States Air Force just as I planned and it wouldn’t of been possible if it wasn’t for them and their support. They have plenty of resources though and they won’t let you fail as long as you don’t fail yourself. I’m beyond thankful for this place for allowing us to have that 2nd chance after a tragedy.. And it is safe so you’ll be able to focus on your kids and yourself to get yourself back on track. Thank you for everything Non Violent Living, I’ll never forget y’all and the help you provided when I was left with completely nothing. ❤️

Although my abuser was charged with two DV related crimes against me. I was told since we weren’t dating it wasn’t dv. If you want trauma informed advocacy, this is not the place.

HOME OF THE DRUG DEALERS GIRLFRIENDS!! They live here long term. And if you don't do drugs, they mix it in with the food to get you hooked. The hospital will not do a blood test even though they take your blood to make it look like they are testing it. Next, the men from the homeless shelter two streets down try to recruit the girls if they refuse to participate in drug use. Last, if you come here, they will not leave you alone. You will not be allowed to go anywhere by yourself. Dont expect for anything that you say here or anywhere else in the town to remain confidential from the moment you enter the facility. Your property will be gone through regardless of consent and if you are present. They wont tell you out right that they did or who. But they will talk to you about what was found in your stuff, in a way that would only mean that they went through your stuff to find it. Also, there was video recording of a woman who worked there Deliberately entering my room after her supervisor told her not to and to stay away after she threatened to kick my newborn and I on the street if I didn't do what she wanted. The power went out at random across the building and evidence was lost apparently. I have a recording of the incident as well. Dont think about going to the police over stuff that happens here at all. Most times, they dont even file the report or have any document.
