I’m giving two stars because the nurses that tended to my gran were very nice. The place was filthy. Her room was appalling. The floor was gross and sticky. There was stuff on the wall by her bed. The toilet wasn’t cleaned and the garbage wasn’t emptied the entire time she was in the facility. My first time at the place. The nurses were great but the environment was poor.

FYI, this facility does not treat their elderly patients for COVID-19. This is not a question I thought I had to ask when searching for good care for my father. At first, they said they did not have the medication on hand and had to request it from the state and it would take too long. Then they said the side effects weren’t worth the risk. In the end, my father died in this facility 26 days after he was admitted. I read the reviews and at that time there was only one negative. I truly do not want this to happen to anyone else. Do NOT trust Cook County Medical long-term care.

I got great care here when I came in for a check up due to chest pain from coughing while I was visiting the town. Came in at 1am and they were well staffed. All the nurses were attentive and nice.

I was having a heart attack and the staff took time to help my adult children with Autism feel comfortable and heard with questions and concerns that they were having. I truly appreciate the time and caring that they all made to get us through this very stressful time for our family. I would go back there in a heart beat. They were awesome!!

Quick, professional service for chest pain. I’d go back again if I needed to. Definitely would recommend the ER.
Other than being a bit hard to find – for a newcomer, and a bit of a walk down the hallway – not sure where we were going, it was a good experience.
My only recommendation would be to have better signage from I-90 through the town to the hospital, as we got a bit lost getting there.

My husband recently had great care at Platte County Memorial in Wheatland. I, as I always do and everyone should, check my medical bills and price the big ticket items CPT codes with other comparable facilities in the state.

The woman in the billing office out of Sundance was an absolute nightmare of a person. She would not look up the prices for me over the phone because the prices are listed on line. I said I could understand that, but I've found that there's no easy way to look them up on facility websites. I asked if their codes were in any order or if I could search by code and she said no, you just have to scroll through.

Please understand that this woman is quite aware that this is an almost impossible task. She then said "I guess I can look up ONE for you." Obviously attending to people inquiring about costs would be an annoying part of the job, but it is your job and you'll only be getting more calls wanting info as price transparency becomes a bigger issue, which it is. My advice to this woman is to get used to it and do your job.

If Crook County's billing department is any reflection of their overall care, it would be wise to keep on driving if you find yourself mid heart attack passing by Sundance.
