Some of us Realtors with with Salt Lake Board of Realtors Young Professional Network sponsored a dinner at Circles recently. Circles is a such great cause and is doing great things to help our communities.

Circles has been very impactful in my life. As a circle leader to now graduate and now helping others on their path out of poverty. They have always shown compassion , empathy and insight on my journey. I know that me and my daughter would not be where we are now without being part of circles and the support they have for my family.
If you’re thinking about joining I would say do it either as a circle leader or as a volunteer. Circles makes the impossible possible.

The most recent review of Circles is six years old. **Note** After writing this review, I've noticed several Circle Leaders have added their own reviews which of course, they are welcome to do.. :)** I am a participant in Circles at this time, November of 2023. The volunteers are wonderful, they're compassionate. The people who work with our children are the best! The goal of Circles is to assist individuals in their journey out of poverty. I think the majority of the paid staff is fairly compassionate and earnest in their efforts. However, I cannot recommend Circles under the current leadership of Michelle C. Michelle has demonstrated a frightening lack of judgment and sensitivity to the trauma, illness, and terror that are often associated with being impoverished. Under her leadership, the focus of Circles SLC is primarily on the volunteers and her staff, not the Circles Leaders, the individuals who are bravely fighting their way out of their poverty. Michelle and her staff would benefit from trauma-informed training, as well as training in how to approach mental health crises with compassion. Michelle would benefit from how to avoid triggering mental health crisis'. I've seen her react too often, inappropriately 'blaming' Circle Leaders for expressing fear, or emotion, or daring to disagree with her. But I've never witnessed her taking personal responsibility for her own actions. The manner in which she handles difficult conversations is to villainize the Circles Leader, period. Neither she, her staff, a volunteer or anyone under her authority could possibly make a mistake, in her world.

It is this 'overprotective' concern for everyone BUT the Circle Leaders, that is both offensive and inappropriate given the aim of the organization. Circles should and could be a really safe place for people to start over and grow and reclaim their self-reliance. But until Michelle learns to value every individual, regardless of whether she 'likes' them personally, it will only be a safe haven to those whom she favors.

I love Circles. They have developed a wonderful community that helps low-income families make their own way out of poverty. Being a Circles "ally" has been incredibly rewarding, and I've seen firsthand how Circles has made a real difference in the lives of many people. I couldn't recommend it more highly.

Circles Salt Lake City is a wonderful and important non-profit that is dedicated to helping individuals overcome barriers that keep them in poverty!

Circles supports their Circle Leaders (the people facing poverty) and arms them with the tools and support they need to break the cycle of poverty.

They also work within the community to help inform the legislators of the issues people living in poverty face, and then they advocate for necessary changes!

I proudly support Circles Salt Lake City and hope you will, too!

For nearly 5 years volunteering with the children's program at Circles Salt Lake, I have watched this organization help families grow, form bonds with other families in their situation, helping each other through friendship, and give families the confidence to succeed. It is an imperative service offered in Utah, as Circles has chapters all along the Wasatch front.

I just want to jump on here and show appreciation to this team.
I lost everything during covid.
This group has shown me how to love myself and my family again.
In the 2 years I have been here. I have gotten out of debt. Going to sch, ol which they have helped get my fasfa/ and scholorships. I am now getting help to buy a house. This community has changed my life and of others. Not only did they change evictions notice 3 day vacate is now 5.
We are working on big view which will change the way that renters do screening with transparency. I love them so much. I am staying here and watching it grow. Come check them out.
